It's like staying with old auntie Jane.....But when you arrive, she's not there, because she has an appointment. So you have to make sure to get there when she is at home. Old and very small rooms. No luxury at all. Very poor breakfast in the cluttered kitchen of the lady of the house.

The couple good things about this B and B is that the woman who owns it is friendly and helpful, and that the harbor itself is super quiet and peaceful. The B and B itself was a big disappointment. The small room was musty, the carpet looked 30 years old, the bathroom was in need of maintenance, the furniture looked...

My husband and I spent four nights at the Bass Harbor Inn. We had the third floor room which includes its own bathroom and kitchen. The room is large with plenty of places to put stuff. There is no TV, but we were glad for the break from that. We had plenty to do without it! The room is rather...

I booked a room at Bass Harbor Inn during peak time in August. My husband I were very fortunate that we found a place in such short notice. She was very upfront and honest when I called. I called her and told her that we are just staying for 2 days and she warned me if I don't book it...

This is a tidy cottage with lots of stairs, a pleasant view and rustic environment. It is near a ferry to Swan Island and a few tiny restaurants within walking distance. If stairs are a challenge or wi fi is critical to your comfort, consider other accommodations. The shower is down the hall from most bedrooms. If you choose the...

From the moment I called the Bass Harbor Inn, the experience was unpleasant. The owner was EXTREMELY rude, abrasive and short on the phone (SPOILER: She's also rude in person). The place only has wifi in the owners house (although to their credit, we were able to connect in our room despite being told we would be unable to get...

On the quiet side of the island, this little B&B is a gem. It is an old house with lots of stairs, rooms tend to be small, most rooms have a half bath (and the shower is communal). Breakfast is in the sitting room on the first floor, nice place to gather and enjoy coffee, local breads, and so forth....

Bass harbour is on the more quiet, but also very beautiful side of Acadia National Park. Driving to the main attractions in the park takes about 20-30 minutes. The Inn is nothing fancy, but absolutely enough to satisfy our needs (clean and quiet). Barbara, the host, is very nice with great and helpful recommendations for hikes, restaurants,... The breakfast is...

Barbara is exceptional. For starters, she came out of her house to greet us by name as we pulled into the bed and breakfast after a long drive from Boston. She provided us with maps and guidebooks so my boyfriend and I would be set to take on Acadia the next day. Every morning started with home-made breakfast in Barbara's...

My husband has been going to the Bass Harbor Inn for about five years now each Fall for hiking. The inn is charming and has views of the harbor. Barbara is a wonderful host who knows the area well with good trail recommendations and locations for dinner choices. The room was comfortable with a good bed and a working fireplace....
