Every year I go here with family Columbus Day weekend. It is peaceful with a 'family' atmosphere. This year they had new ownership so I was a bit anxious. Well they personally still greet you and there are wonderful blueberry muffins and coffee. But a few changes were evident- along with feeling personal our room had all new decor -... More

We stayed here 2 nights recently while on a little mini-get-away. The setting is very nice and it was clean and cozy but the place still needs a bit more updating. We were on the upper level. The room and the bathroom were a bit cramped but adequate. Several annoyances made me rate the experience lower. The beds creaked as... More

I had only been to Bailey Island once, many years ago, so wasn't sure where this motel was. What a joy to go over the bridge from Orr's Island to Bailey Island and have the welcoming entrance to the motel there in front of me! Driving up the gravel drive, I noticed chairs grouped in various places around the grounds;... More

I was looking for a place in Maine to host a small wedding of 24 people that would be casual but beautiful. Every small town and hotel wanted to have a traditional set up with tents and a reception. We were looking for a place to have a ceremony and then go out for a nice seafood dinner. Somehow I... More

Stayed on a shoulder season motorcycle trip. The staff were great and the room was no frills but spotless and comfy. Terrific location with a gorgeous view off the dock. Continental breakfast was fine but save your calories for lobster omelette at Great Stairs

My sister got married here last weekend and what a stay it was! The staff was so friendly and accommodating. We had room #5 as it is a bit larger than some of the others. We were able to have a pack and play set up with the two beds and still have plenty of room without feeling cramped. We... More

The sites to see are in Bailey Island and its family supportive islands close by. A wonder of beauty such as Mackeral Bay five minutes away and Cooks island harbor five minutes away. Lobstah...meaning lobster exceedingly succulent with many choices nearby. The motel was comfortable...the staff friendly and helpful. Such a real example of being in the heart and essence... More

My fiancé and i took a motorcycle trip traveling through various states on the NE coast. We googled motels to stay at in various places and in Maine this one came up as an option. A couple days before we arrived to Maine we called here to see if they had a room available. The owner was very nice but... More

The new owners just bought and are in the middle of renovating and updating this old motel. They have put on a much needed roof, new railings and new siding not to mention updating rooms with new paint, TV's and baths. We stayed for one night but loved every minute. We opened the windows on our second floor room and... More

New owners are trying to spiff up this old time seaside motel with mixed results. Yes the location is fantastic, the proximity to experiences quintessentially Maine perfect. This old maid of a building is best if your needs are primary. The rooms - and we checked out four of them - are oddly configured (why is the only place you... More
