When you advertise special promotions then please indicate that some rooms are not part of the promotion. Better to be upfront than annoy your guests. Scenery and dam close by are worth a trip to see.

Dear EuroTripping, All open rooms of our hotel available for booking in our Specail deal however as explained to you previously on our Facebook page the Tim Shae wings are closed during winter due to staffing levels and only opened for events over winter. I am sure you can understand this in such a remote environment. If we can help...

We stayed here for 2 nights on April 12-13, 2017. We were in room 3 which was a Pedder Wing Lake View room. The hotel is the only thing in “town” apart from a few houses. The other form of accommodation is a campground at nearby Ted’s Beach. And no matter what you may hear, the road out to Strathgordon...

We had spoken with Megan at the Grand Chancellor in Hobart about staying here before we left Hobart. Megan had worked here previously and told us about the little hidden places to go and visit while we were here. Also there IS no phone reception and no lodge Wi-Fi. However there was rural Wi-Fi available but expensive. The lodge is...

Our room was just what we needed - super comfy bed, good size bathroom, TV, and a heater plus hot drinks for the cold weather. For what you pay for a room (and because it's the old hydro workers accommodation), it's good value, and a good spot to base yourself to explore the area. Our dinner was expensive but guess...

The scenery was amazing driving to the lodge, the reason for our visit. The staff were friendly, our room clean, and we enjoyed a pub type meal, but there is not a lot more to say. The photos on the website do more justice than the reality.

The reality belies the name. Wildernes yes, Lodge....more like bush motel. The vistas and location are breathtaking but the premises are in desperate need of a major makeover. At $179 for a lake view room its overrated...Lake view yes but the fridge humming away next to the bed is less than romantic!! The staff were excellent n eager to please....

Great location but the rooms were very disappointing. Walls were like paper and the building felt like a college dorm. Fairly clean and very small. The rest of the lodge was OK but I wish there had been more walks walking distance from the Lodge. Food was very good in the restaurant but unfortunately they closed the lounge room off...

When we arrived it was not what we were expecting ,The Donga style accommodation worried us at first sight .We were in a lake view room (the view was amazing ) and I think the people who got non lake view rooms may have been disappointed. The rooms are comfortable and clean and has a small fridge and tea &...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Pedder Wilderness Lodge is located right in the heart of Tasmania's Southwest National Park which is part of Tasmania's World Heritage Area. Recognised as one of the world's extraordinary natural wonders by the World Heritage Commission, it is to be protected forever from human intervention. One tree, which now sits out the front of the Lodge, was cut down in the 1970's before this protection was in place. The great Huon pine, which is about the width of a car, has its rings marked all the way back to the birth of Christ. Our surrounds, from which this great Huon came, boast everything from ancient awe-inspiring landscapes with boulders from the Jurassic period, striking mountains and lush sub-alpine rainforests with monolithic trees which range from centuries to thousands of years old, all the way to the modern man-made Gordon Dam which offers one of the world's top ten adrenaline activities. With accommodation for all types of travellers, Pedder Wilderness Lodge offers a relaxing and warm environment with a focus on fine Tasmanian food, wines and produce. With sweeping views of Lake Pedder and Twelvetrees Range you could not find a more perfect place to escape, explore, relax and enjoy our hospitality. ... more   less
