I wanted to visit here after viewing North and South. The tour guide was only 29 but already responsible for everything! I was allowed to walk upstairs alone to take photos which one cannot do in most homes. The furnishings were exquisite and many original to the buildings. Take note to stay away from the pond as there are rattlesnakes...

I really enjoy touring plantations but the stories behind them are as interesting as the structures themselves. The docent here was the absolute best! This plantation damaged in the war then rebuilt, burned after the rebuild and has been rebuilt again! We are blessed that so many individuals cared for this home! The descendants from the original owners still own...

It was interesting to see where the shooting of the series "North and South" took place. The house is beautiful, it 's very southern with the columns. The exterior of this place is very relaxing as well

After discovering that Justin LaMotte's Plantation depicted in the TV Series 'The North and South' was the Greenwood Plantation, we decided to make a special trip down the Natchez Trace Parkway just to see it. It was well worth the trip. The spring flowers were in full bloom and the grounds with the pond were so lovely. Spanish moss swayed...

We toured the home & grounds today. It was awesome even though it burned down in the 60's. It was rebuilt in the 70-80's exactly like the original one from 1830 The staff was very knowledgable & friendly. They even let us picnic on the grounds. So far they had around 10 movies filmed there!

It's a nice drive through the countryside to this plantation. It is a replica of the original but done very nicely and the tour was interesting. Given by the owner's daughter, we enjoyed the relaxed pace of the tour in that we were able to walk around upstairs and take our time before meeting downstairs for the tour. The hotel...

The drive to Greenwood leads you through a rural Louisiana landscape that prepares you for a step back in time. Huge ancient oaks covered with Spanish moss welcomes you to the grounds of an idealic antebellum home that has been beautifully restored. Breathtaking views are the norm for this amazing home. Our group came to take part in a family...

Stayed a night here and really loved the beauty of the Plantation. Would have rated higher but excessive guest noise (kids) after 10pm kept us from having a quiet getaway. The breakfast is served at 9 am so do not be late. Take time to tour the Greenwood Plantation home and learn the history.

We were greeted at the door by the owners daughter. She was wonderful and friendly and inviting. It was quit a surprise to us to be invited not only into this magnificent plantation home but also to a private home. She told us to go upstairs and look around and she would answer any questions we had when we came...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our bed and breakfast is a newer facility across the pond from the main house ( there is no rooms in the main house for rent). The upstairs rooms are the nicer rooms, they have a view of the house and pond. The downstairs rooms are built into a hill and offer a view of the wooded area, great for nature watching. The main house is open to the public for tours only. Only the owners stay in the main house. ... more   less
