We spent one night at the cottage and got a true feeling of the relaxed southern life of this quaint little town. If you're looking for lots of amenities (like a hot shower and a dip in the covered nasty pool area), this place is not for you. Our shower had a trickle of hot water at best - although...

We spent three days in historic St. Francisville, Louisiana, and we could have spent a few more. We had never been to St. Francisville before. However, we did some research before our trip. Nevertheless, we experienced a lot more than we anticipated, all for the good. It's an Old South town on the Mississippi River that clings to its antebellum...

First of all, this was our first trip to St. Francisville, LA and we always search for historic places to stay! We decided to stay at the Cottage Plantation because it was off the "beaten path" and the plantation is situated at the end of a long lane, across a bridge... We were mesmerized by the beautiful old oaks and...

Four of us stayed one night at The Cottage Plantation. We were disappointed, but still really enjoyed the visit if that makes any sense. I am going to attempt to describe what we saw and how everything was so that you will know what to expect. The whole place is full of artifacts, but is very disorganized and not well...

Beautiful grounds surrounding an old plantation. Wonderful peaceful setting in the original plantation house. There are several rooms on the second floor of the original building. Breakfast is served family style followed by a group tour of the home and outbuildings.

We are so glad we had the opportunity to stay at Cottage Plantation. It is a very historic place. The owner, Mary, was friendly and made us feel very welcomed. She offered to bring us coffee in the morning, but we chose to go downstairs. The breakfast was really great, if you go, I hope you have the opportunity to...

We spent our Valentines weekend at this property and was very happy with our choice. We had a choice of a room in the main house upstairs with a king bed or a room with a double bed with an outside entrance, we decided to go for the outside entrance room, it was $100.00 usd for the night, plus breakfast...

My husband and I have been making an annual summer stay here, usually on Labor Day weekend. Why do we always return here? Because we love everything about it! St. Francisville has many beautiful, historic plantations, but we wouldn't choose to stay at some due to the tour busses, traffic, and commotion. A weekend at Cottage Plantation offers peace and...

Beautiful property with lots of history! Just a shame to see so much of it unkept! Host was super sweet, breakfast was wonderful and very interesting story! Needs some TLC! Decent price as well. Very relaxing weekend! Wonderful town to visit!

It was very quiet very secluded, you did not know anyone else was in the building. the accommodations were extremely authentic ! breakfast was amazing ! You got a great feel for what it was like to live in that time, Other than having your own bathroom ! We would stay there again in a heartbeat .
