For those looking for a Bed and Breakfast with the British touch then this is recommended. Clean and comfortable room and the best breakfast in France. David and Julie are very friendly and helpful and make you feel very welcome.

Number 56 is perfectly located in the heart of the Somme battlefield within walking distance of Lochnagar Crater and Ovillers Cemetery and a few minutes drive from Thiepval, Newfoundland Park, Ulster Tower etc. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the whole place really does have a "home from home" feel about it. Number 56 Bed and Breakfast is Number 1 in our eyes - it's a superb establishment, with superb hosts in Julie and David. It is a "home from home". You only have to read other people's reviews to know that every one who stays there leaves feeling the same! It was our second visit and Royalty could not have been...

My friends and I spent a most enjoyable weekend at this lovely B&B with a tank - really! - in the front yard. Julie and David have an extensive knowledge of the area and passion for its history, which they liberally (!) shared with us, and they really made us feel welcome in so many ways. The house could be...

I'm sorry I can only give 5 stars, should be more. I have visited the Somme on many occasions but this was the first time at Fifty6. I regret not finding it sooner. Much has been said in other reviews about the warm welcome, great advice, splendid food and home comforts, it's all very true. They truly care that you...

What started off as a two night stay ended as 3 due to car failure. During that time Julie and David far exceeded my expectations for a B&B. Having stayed at B&Bs the world over No65 is by far the best! Fantastic, friendly, fun are just a few words of expression. Comfortable, warm accommodation, a mass of information, a wealth...

I, along with my Nephew, recently spent three days on a personal family pilgrimage visit to the Somme Battlefields, en-route to Ypres. The purpose was to follow the WW1 footsteps of a family member and ultimately visit his grave. The reception, care and assistance offered by David & his wife Julie at No.56 can only be described as outstanding. We...
