This little cottage is extremely comfortable and well furnished. The setting is in a small town, but the trees, large grounds and bayou make it seem you are far out in the countryside. the evening is peaceful and quiet. Wish we had a slow rain while there to enjoy the sound of the metal roof. It is also very convenient...

The Bayou Teche Cottage is situated right off of Main Street, but you would never know because it is so quiet and serene. It is within walking distance to downtown where you can tour the Shadows on the Teche, visit the museum, and dine at restaurants, and much more. Avery Island and Jefferson Island are a short drive away. The...

We really enjoyed our stay in this rustic cabin! Our trip to New Iberia was some nine months in the planning, and Patrice ( who manages the cabin bookings ) patiently answered all my queries via email and also sent me through some great articles relating to New Iberia and James Lee Burke. The cabin's setting at the rear of...

Stayed here two nights to break the journey to New Orleans. Place was clean and had good quality accesories, but the 'cottage' needs some work, like painting doors, fixing taps etc. The 'cottage' is very tight for two people. The garden area at the back is very peaceful, don't forget the bug spray! The breakfast was as described, good quality...

Prior to spending a few days at this guest cottage, I’d always assumed New Iberia could not be as breathtakingly beautiful as it’s described in James Lee Burke’s novels. Turns out it can. There’s really nothing like sitting out on a wooden front porch in Louisiana, listening to rain on the tin roof overhead, and watching a rainbow appear and...

Cottage and grounds overlooking the bayou is fantastic. Breakfast provisions are ample, bedding can sleep 4, and the grounds are covered in wonderful large trees (live oaks) providing a great ambience and shady coverage of the property. You can walk into east main in 10 mins or so, and Patrice does well in giving an overview if the property and...

What a great stay! Patrice took care of us and she was very attentive to our needs. Even reached out to us when there was a storm 9n the area to check on us :) provided a nice continental breakfast. The cabin was neat and clean. The cabin had a great feel to it. And the property was fantastic. Right...

We were looking for a stopping point on our way through Louisiana and also wanted to visit the Tabasco bottling facility. Seeing that New Iberia was "right next door" I went to their web site and found a link to the B&B's in the area. One stood out over the rest; Bayou Teche Guest Cottage. Looking at the photos on...

Bayou Teche Cottage was everything I hoped for and more. I traveled to New Iberia because I wanted to experience a Louisiana I had only read about. Yes, the trip was about writer James Lee Burke, but I loved southwest Louisiana well past the literary connection. The cottage is on property James Lee Burke’s grandfather once owned and offers a...

We had a great time at the Bayou Teche Cottage. Check-in could not be easier. Gayle was very polit and easy to work with and catered to our needs nicely. She had check in all set up for us when we showed up, and on the hot summer day I was cool as soon as we entered the cabin. I...
