Ordered drinks - no Tabasco for the Bloody Mary. Not going too well are we.
Usual suspects lined up for consumption - prawns ex frozen ex el cheapo and flavourless. Bits of Pizzas, anti pasto selection, spaghetti bolognaise, turkey, beef and variety of vegetables.
It was all about quantity and very little about quality.
Two wasted staff standing at the front checking people in "for the sessions" LOL
Huge glassed area for serving that could be better suited to doing coffee and cakes etc. by moving coffee machine from otherside of room across. Staff could then be put to use behind a cash register and kitchen could then produce meals on request just like other hotels do for counter meals.
Buffets are about re-heated and re-heated meals reconstituted in all sorts of forms. Poor quality ingedients and numerous hands dipping in to things. The decor of the place indicated potentially it is better than buffet style service but the management for whatever reason has chosen to go that way and as a eating venue it is an abysmal failure despite the young man assuring me "that the standard of this buffet is better than most" simply not true it is the wrong venue for a buffet and hopefully the penny will drop, otherwise patrons will vote with their feet.
The overall variety of food cant be faulted, problem is it was tasteless, even some of the curry dishes.
Most people love a nice fresh prawn, problem is certain people help themselves to more than their share..not a restaurant problem but rations need to be made. When i finally got a couple of prawns they were still slightly frozen...no i didnt expect nice fresh prawns but at least let them thaw out.
None of the food looked freshly cooked or prepared, especially desserts, the Pavlova looked like it had literally melted and had some almond dessert which was disgrafeful.
If you want cheap eats or take the kids out for dinner this is the place, its horrible food but what would kids know.
The actually bench seating the vinyl was ripped and showing age.
the only saving grace was Crown Lager was its beer of the month and substantially cheaper than normal.
Give this place a wide berth if you have cross contamination fears, again probably not a restaurant issue but some people (customers) dont give a stuff if they use the same serving spoons/forks etc for differant dishes and kids at the dessert bar just use their fingers.
Absolutely horrible. Where to start, the food is disgusting, tasteless, warm(not hot). We walked away completed dissatisfied, nothing good about this place, especially the desert. Only thing that was half decent was the salt and pepper squid.
And the price is beyond ridiculous $35 per head on a Saturday night.
This place is making a fortune with this cheap food, and high prices!
Please don't waste your time here.
You can go all the way from Entrees, Soup, Main Course to Desserts.
Both Asian and Traditional tastes are catered for....Fresh prawns too!
