We didn't realize it until we arrived at the Judge Felix Poche Plantation House at 6554 Highway 44 in Convent, Louisiana, that it is a popular gathering place for RV travelers who use it as a base camp for visiting other historic plantation sites along the River Road from New Orleans to Baton Rouge. The Poche house doesn't compare to...

We stayed here as a base to travel around in the area. This is VERY laid back place, lots of long term travelers, trash pickup, nice pool area and had beautiful grounds. Need to learn the roadways to get around the canals and the river but after learning that in was easy going. Beautiful plantations all around, about 50 miles...

We have enjoyed our stay at Poche Plantation so much! The manager, Mark Anderson and his staff have been wonderful! Our site is close to the Historic River Road where almost next door the bells of beautiful St. Michael's Church ring out! Jefferson College, where the rich planters sent their sons for schooling is nearby. It is a magnificent structure...

This plantation/R.V.Park is beautiful! So close to New Orleans & Baton Rouge! I absolutely love how clean and peaceful and welcoming this park is! You can walk the levee of the Mississippi River! The Convent area is louisiana country at its finest! Poche plantation even has a museum! The plantation house gives you the feel that you're in Cajun country!...

We stayed here for two nights this week and it was definitely an eclectic place. Sites are all level concrete. We had full hook ups in back right by the office and next to the St. Michael Cemetery which was perfect as far as I was concerned. Part of the reason I've always wanted to come to LA is to...

We were visiting Houmas House Plantation down the road. It got late and we found this place on line. My husband called and got Mark on the phone (after several calls). It was a vague conversation - do you have availability? Yes. What is the rate? Will you be paying cash? Excuse me? Isn't it the same rate regardless of...

A RV Park Cottage Plantation near our Vacherie Family Reunion was beautiful family fun. Another reason Louisiana is our second camping home. Our big rig had plenty of space, level concrete and a touch of shade. Thanks Poche, we will be back.

I liked this park, a lot!! People are friendly, we were along the back, where there are fields which give you a sense of space. I thoroughly enjoyed the Saturday morning plantation tour, st martin's church and the cemetery next door, hymels and nobile's restaurant nearby, walking on the levee, yes the Mississippi is industrial, the plantations beautiful, if you...

Close to Vacherie Oak Alley and plantations. Very nice place, good folks, nice staff. Laundry Room New and clean as well as showers. Pool wonderful... Loved the Mississippi River, the hot tub and the plantation tour by owner Mark. We will be back and recommend to friends and family.

This place has potential but is horribly run and unorganized. Don't bother making a reservation because they don't actually hold a spot for you. The hot tub does not work. They might try to send you to their sister park, which isn't very nice at all. The owner has been rude and even hung up on us when we called....
