Accomodation was cheap rooms were extremely clean and for the price great value. Staff very friendly and were willing to go out of their way to assist us. Would highly recommend the Dartmoor Hotel Motel for the traveler on a tight budget.

Not many there for a Cup day evening meal, but the pub was open and we enjoyed one pork and one chicken main course and two sticky date puddings.
A good traditional country pub meal.
Likewise the motel accomodation had all you needed and nothing elaborate - for a good price for it.
Very amused by the crayfish display across the road when we found it the next morning ($1 coin to make it move)

We had read some negative reviews on the hotel, but decided to try for ourselves. The hotel on a Friday night was reasonably busy with locals, and a meat raffle for the local cricket club was in progress. We were warmly welcomed by staff.
The restaurant section was empty, so it was suggested we eat in the large bar area. This was fine, as on a chilly evening the wood heater was working very well.
The special of the night sounded good - rump steak with pepper sauce for $25 which came with garlic bread, baked potato & sour cream and a plate of vegetables- cauli & broccoli in white sauce, and carrots, beans, sweet potato & pumpkin. The steak was quite large and thick and perfectly cooked. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal.
To top the evening off we won the meat tray, which the publican and locals took in good humour. We hope the local cricket team won the next day!

The Dartmoor pub is not an architectural masterpiece but is neat and tidy. The staff are friendly and helpful. We went mainly for dinner and apart from the normal pub fare they had a whole barramundi roast. It was sensational! Don't think I have had a better pub meal anywhere. Talking to the chef later we found we were the only people to order this for the night!. Lucky us! Had to giggle though when we asked about champagne. We were told they had none but they did later tell us they had some sparkling Chardonnay Pinot Noir! It was a good SA drop and was remarkably being sold at bottle shop prices. If you are in the area it is well worth a visit.

The owners / managers/ staff are the most obliging and dealt with our various last minute changes and very late arrival well after the hotel had closed and kitchen also just so obligingly. They even made up a very flavoursome meal out of whatever was at hand. Next time we will stop and have a proper meal. In the meantime it is just so lovely to think there are businesses who are so friendly. Thank you 🙏

it is the local and only hotel and that would be the only reason why anyone keeps going there. Is there an award to the worst publican because here is a definite candidate. Served without a smile or welcome, in fact more likely to be told to go away oh and if it is a long weekend or a special event on in town you can pretty much guarantee the place will be shut it's like they don't want to deal with people

Working in the customer service industry myself I do not understand why you would own a business in the industry if you do not like people. We have attended the pub several times and each time has been disappointing, never met with a smile or a happy demeanour it's always the same unwelcome feeling making you feel like they have to "go out of their way" to do their jobs.
On a positive, the food was a great pub meal.

The meal is great pub food, but the service is something else. Served without a smile or welcome, in fact more likely to be told to go away.
