Thank You for the Question. Our housekeepers are trained to check for Bed Bugs everyday, because it is a travel agent. If we notice and small blood spots, eggs, or bed bugs in general, our first step is to heat the room at 135 Degree temperature. This process allows any live bugs to crawl out from hiding and eventually suffocate and die after 5 to 8 hours of the heat. We reach out to Orking right away also, so that they can inspect the room and began their treatment of necessary. 3 to 4 days after, Orkin comes back and reinspect the issue. Once they have confirmed that there is no more signs of inspection, we heat the room again for 24 Hours as a precaution. If the issue is severe,
Also, once a month we fog all the rooms with a soy based product that has proven to work on all types of insects. This monthly maintenance plan is addition to the monthly pest control service Orkin Provides.
This may seem an extreme measure to eliminate bed bugs issue, but due to being in Lousiana, it is important take all measures to control the insects issues.
I recommend that she you stay anywhere, check the corners of all the beds before bringing your belongings to the room. Once you have brought your belongings, set them on a higher ground, such as, the luggage rack, coffee table, and vanity/ closet area. Incase if you are in a room that has bed bugs, you do not want further your journey with the bugs in your clothing.
I hope the information I provided you helped. If you have any other questions, feel free to call us at the hotel and ask for me.
