This is the first time I've written a negative review of a hotel.. we come to this area often because we have family in the area.. we've actually stayed here several times in the past 10 years and had great experiences, but it was sold and under new ownership. The hotel is old, that's a given. I don't mind old...

To assist readers, I break down my hotel reviews into different categories. I rate each on a scale of 1 to 5. Hope it helps. CUSTOMER SERVICE: 5/5 To start, I must give thanks to the night clerk at Cumberland Lodge Motel in Russell Springs for referring me to the Parkland, the only place with vacancies within an hour’s drive....

The staff took great care of me. The owner knew that the event I was attending did not start until later in the day, and she allowed me to stay past the check-out time without paying any extra. My room was clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay at Parkland again.

The Motel is so run down, cracks under the door that lets light in; holes in the window dressings, bed spreads; carpet is filthy; no stoppers in the bathroom sinks; mattresses on the beds in my room were so old and beat up they looked and felt as if they came over on the Mayflower. The box springs on one...

We were very pleased with our accommodations. You must understand that the area is very rural and the motel is old as well. However, the staff was nice and helpful and the rooms were fine. You can not expect a palace in this rural town. We will stay there again when we are in the area.

Visiting the Parkland is a bit like stepping back in time. The 2 story motel provides clean rooms although the furnishings are rather outdated. My spacious 2nd story room had a hardwood floor which I thought rather unusual for a motel. My brother's room on the first floor was carpeted and had a couch (an unattractive one I might add)....

What was more disgusting than the decrepit conditions we stayed in, was the staff reaction, rather lack there of to the conditions they place their guests in. Here is a short run down of our stay. We arrived late, so there was no other choice than to stay! Lobby/office smelled of mold, I asked the attendant if all the rooms...

We stayed here for four nights. The motel is a typical 60's motel with two levels with all outside entrances. We stayed on the first level. Our room was clean with two queen-size beds. The room had a microwave and small refrigerator and TV. The dressing area had two double sinks which made it convenient. The room had an iron...
