Pleasant, quiet and small resort directly on the spacious sandy Kao Tao beach. The room was well appointed and comfortable. On site restaurant provides decent Thai food and the location is ideal for an active day of walking, swimming and enjoying the beach.

We were in Khao Tao in 2020, and discovered this resort. This year we knew we wanted to stay there and enjoy its site, rooms, staff and location in Khao Tao! It was perfect for us, not fancy, but very comfortable and convenient for all of our needs! The staff was great and friendly! My wife had hurt her foot, so they helped us get to the local restaurants and just really helped make our stay even more enjoyable! We will be back!!!!

This has been our comfortable “home” for the past two years when we visit Khao Tao. It has a great location on the beach, with a pool; and the staff are friendly and gracious hosts! This small fishing village is a perfect setting to get away from the crowds and relax.

This is a discrete gem on the beach next to a small fishing village and a very big hillside temple. You can rent a little villa or normal room. It is not dirt cheap, but certainly cheaper than Western luxury hotels. It is clean, there is ac, and good and free wifi. We only had breakfast (as there are restaurants along the beach) and both the American and Thai versions were fine. There is also a nice but small swimming pool, and the hotel has bicycles for rent. The hotel is hard to find, even for Thai's, and if you stay here you are isolated if you don't have your own transport, so it is not convenient for visiting downtown Hua Hin. However it is an ideal place for having a rest in a place where Western tourists are a rare site.

Peaceful, comfortable and with some of the best food in the area. We visited at a very quiet time, with the week days being almost empty and the resort filling up with Bangkok Thais at the weekend, and yet the food was consistently excellent and the service attentive, but relaxed. We were looked after by the supervisor, who spoke excellent English and gave us local information and help. Good facilities, great pool, quiet beach and really lovely rooms, with well finished bathrooms - amazingly good value. Fishing fleet next door means the occasional smell of drying fish wafts over, but somehow it all adds to the charm. One of those places that you hesitate to review because you want to keep it all to yourself.

Stayed here for 9 nights in March 2007. This resort hotel is a little out of the way but perfect for my needs. it is situated in a small Thai fishing village at the south end of Takiab Beach. The rooms are semi detached bungalows and whilst not luxurious the are perfectly adequate with air con, tv,tidy bathroom and veranda.
The pool is superb, being next to the beach, with plenty of loungers. Hua Hin is a 300baht Tuk Tuk ride away if you need western bars and restaurants. On the down side for some paople is that this location is Thai, no one speaks other than Thai and the food is Thai.
This is not a cheap hotel by Thai standards, but if you want to 'get away from it all' this is the place. The few staff try and do anything to make your stay a happy one and cannot be faulted for their endeavours.

Where do I start with this place :(

Just returned from a 7 night break here. Will not book again!

Accommodation

We had a twin room with roof top spa. The accommodation whilst in the most part a mid-high standard the location couldn't of got any worse. We were not in the main resort but across the road and immediately adjacent to it. We were stared at daily by the locals who convened outside our room and also had the company of 10 stray dogs that lived on the street and barked/howled all night at the slightest noise. When we wanted to dine in the restaurant or visit the pool or beach we would be surrounded by dogs barked and showing their teeth. Very intimidating. Another point to be made, we were in villa 602 and conveniently outside our room is also where the rubbish bin are left and naturally at 3am every night they get empty by the bin wagon. Just what you want when you're fast asleep the sound of glass bottles clattering in the back of a wagon.

Restaurant

A weird set up here next to the reception. The staff who rotate different duties from maid, receptionist, waitress and cooking somedays. None of them speak English and only one of them very very little. Quite funny somedays you would go and ask for a drink and it was a lottery what you would actually get. The funniest one was I asked for a cola and got an ashtray :/
Food was average but not cooked in the restaurant. The waitress would disappear across the road and down an alley and come back 20 mins later with the food.
We had to prompt them to take our plates away and also for more drinks. In the 7 nights we stayed there we were never offered a desert menu either.

Pool

Small but good. Electrics are rather dodgy though. Don't touch the pool lights. Loosely fitted and wires exposed.

Beach

The main reason we booked was because of the beach. Long sandy beach with nice views. However this is spoilt with the litter from previous guests and dog poo. Watch where you stand or else you could have an unpleasant surprise between your toes.

After the first day we asked for a refund or a different room. We were told to speak to booking.com for a refund. We were however shown other rooms with twin beds but all were over looked by adjacent rooms.

All in all very disappointed. You have to see it to believe it.
Some of you are probably thinking this is the Thai way of doing things but this is my 3rd time to Thailand and I have been all over. Prior to this we stayed in the Mercure Hideaway on Koh Chang which was a 4* resort and was only an extra £5 per night and that was faultless.
This place has bags of potential and could be a real hidden gem in Hua Hin but with no visible management on site it seems as though the staff are doing things how they think it should be done.

A very nice getaway, nice, clean and almost private beach, however the presence of s small fishing harbor just beside is not to everyones taste. Resort is small and feels private, well maintained garden. Buildings and facilities are ok, but not high standard. Good quality Kajaks and bikes are free. Our rooms smelled damp, funishing is simple and of older design. Rooms were very clean and well maintained though.
The resport is in the middle of the village and surroundings are 'local', most rooms have poor views either to the neighbors or to the small road. Beware that the Jacuzzi rooms are across the road and seperated from the main resort. This road is very quiet though, beside a few dogs hardly any traffic and noise.
Breakfast was average, but ok.
Big compliment to the staff, they are exceptionally friendly and polite and helpful, almost offsetting the minus points above.
The resort is located off the way, next convenience store a kilometer away and no restarants around. If you dont have transportation its not easy to get around. It takes about 15 minutes into HuaHin town by car.
A bit pricey for what they offer.

This a quaint little place in a sleepy fishing village about 15 min south of Hua Hin. Great if you're looking for solitude. It's an unpretentious resort, so one must accept a few limitations: it's a bit hard to find, the staff are eager and helpful but speak very little English, the food is not great (best to stick to Thai dishes). The bungalows are very well appointed and mostly brand new; nice bathrooms. Do NOT, however, book the boathouse. Though it's a cute and novel idea, it's a bit claustrophobic in there. The beach is not great here, especially at low tide, but it's right next to an outcrop with a few temples, and it's almost always deserted. The pool is small but very nice.

Far far away from Hua Hin Town, this place is good only if you are just a very quiet and peace loving person. We are a family of 2 couples and 2 children so altogether we are 6 and thus have booked the beach front Villa, beside a lovely small pool and a very private beach. They have a little garden in front of the Villa, this makes place very cool. This is a duplex villa, all glass,, on the ground level there is one bedroom with washroom and living area, on the upper lever, there are 2 bedrooms, 1 washroom and again a small sitting area. Rooms are way too small but with the living area its just a little space to move around, however you will need no time at room since most of the time it is preferred to stay outside the room as there is a small lovely garden and a whole beach for you or you can just sit beside the pool which is beside this villa. Over the weekdays we were only guests to the hotel so all a private place for us. Very simple but good breakfast, all staffs are very courteous although the english is too poor but with this little understanding, they are always ready to help.
There is no small eatouts around the hotel, no convenient store around, all they will give you bicycle to roam around and those are very helpful. They have also offered us the mini bar free, not all items, but most of them and have also replenish the same each day. Do not compare this with any big brands, this is a very simple Thai style resort.. Altogether this is a nice very cosy place to stay.
