This is the quintessential roadside hotel. It is clean, could even smell bleach in the bathroom. Room temperature maintained without a lot of noise, and the mattresses were very comfortable- we slept for 10 hrs! Of course, parking is right outside the door, so you can hear loud noises in the parking lot, but no road noise. It's certainly not...

We were on a road trip without reservations and there aren't many places to stay in this remote and beautiful part of Kentucky. The motel is near the road but it was quiet at night. The doors and windows look right at the parking lot, which I usually do not like, but the setting was pretty with woods and hills...

We stayed in one of the regular rooms, not the suites. The Room was a little dated, however, it was very very clean. The water pressure wasn't the greatest, but we would stay there again. The pool looked nice, eventhough it was closed for the season.

Dry County but only 6 mile to wet. Wolfe County is wet and no body bats an eye if you bring your own. Nice ice machine and lots of room size options. The pool is nicely maintained and cool in September. Rooms are clean and the staff is great at helping with your needs.

One section is a motel with pool then close by is another suite type motel which I will try next time! Comfortable and clean but dated....this area really needs a restaurant close by! Note motel room has front & back door...have to use your motel key to get ice.

After an afternoon at the Natural Arch State Park nearby we were anxious to find a motel and chanced upon the Li'l Abner Motel. The manageress (or owner?) was charming and helpful and showed us the room with 2 queen sized beds for 79 dollars a night. It was very clean and comfortable. The area is very rural and so...

I booked 5-rooms for a motorcycle tour group. I was not expecting the Ritz in Slade, KY, however, we were comfortable, the rooms were clean and the desk clerk was kind and helpful. Overall, we were very pleased with the accommodations, but a nearby, open, restaurant would had been good. We would stay again.

Positives: good price, clean, friendly, close to Natural Bridge, refrigerator and microwave. Negatives: Our nonsmoking room reeked of cigarette smoke. They have a big sign on the counter that there would be a $250 fine if smoking in nonsmoking room. Apparently you have to be caught in the act. There was also a burn hole in the bedspread, so obviously...

For a hotel of this age, it was really quite amazing to have such a positive experience. The room was spotless & smelled good. The bathroom was recently remodeled & had a fantastic shower head & water pressure (much appreciated after all the hiking & sweating!). The beds were nothing fancy, but were comfortable & the blankets were new. I...

Lil Abner was in a great location where you could easily get to Red River Gorge and Natural Bridges State Park. We stayed in the two room suites Unit 50 and 51. The beds were comfy, there was a comfy recliner, two TV's and microwave and refrigerator. We had some nice hikes in Red River Gorge to Gray's Arch, Hidden...
