Great family atmosphere with loads to do with kids. Park is full of adventures. Horse riding, swimming, putt putt, cave exploration, hiking trials are just some of the main activities. Camp ground is clean and family friendly.

I was traveling back home to Louisville KY from a family vacation trip in North Carolina. My mom wanted to do a bit of sight seeing and I just wanted to get home, reluctantly I looked at the atlas to see what we could do that wasn't too far off the main rout home and found Carter Caves. I wasn't...

We went there for a youth activity with our church. The rooms had great views. We had just got in our room when my sons and I seen a doe crossing into the wooded area behind the resort. The rock formations and the sheer beauty of the place was worth every minute on the road to get there.

Carter caves is a staple of my childhood memory and a favorite place to visit, still. The lodge and cabins are accurately shown in their website. They aren't fancy and definitely give the feel of a motel from the 90s but the visual tour is accurate. The park is well maintained and fun to hike. Lots to do for many...

My husband and I spent the weekend of 10/30/2015 until 11/1/2015. We wanted to enjoy the end of the beautiful fall foliage at a place that offered a variety of activities, and we were not disappointed. We stayed in the lodge. The room was basic but clean, and the bed was comfortable. We played golf on Friday then had dinner...

Amazing, beautiful park to hike and enjoy the scenery and the caves, however the overnight accommodations at the lodge did not measure up to the quality of other KY State Parks where we have stayed. The first room we were assigned smelled like animals we changed rooms immediately but had the same smell in the next. The room had a...

Thank you for your post and most of all thank you for your visit. The back decks are indeed in need of attention and our hopes are to get that done in the near future, hopefully by Spring. The hot water issue just today was resolved. We have had some work being done behind the lodge and a valve had...

We spent 3 nights here. We arrived on a Monday night in the dark. We called ahead and told them we would be late. They put our reserved market by the site so we found it ok. Waking up the next morning, Tuesday, I was shocked at the amount of trash everywhere. I have never seen so much garbage (everything...

Thank you for your post. I have shared your comments with our campground staff and have instructed them that garbage is to be picked up daily. We do not provide garbage cans at each site. We do have 3 centrally located dumpsters throughout the campground area. As for the supplies it is close to closing the campground for the season...

This room was rented for us, by family. The location of the lodge is absolutely gorgeous with plenty of wildlife. Racoons are everywhere because they enjoyed eating the decorative indian corn. The room was nice and clean. It passed my bedbug check. There isn't any carpet in the rooms. The floors were faux wood and that was nice. We didn't...
