Welcome to one of Australia’s most exclusive luxury retreats. Built in 1856, Kingsford The Barossa is picturesque venue that has been lovingly restored to become one of Australia’s finest luxury retreats – a gem nestled amongst riverbanks and rolling hills, surrounded by beautiful gum trees and the native Australian landscape. Tucked away and only 45 minutes from the bustling city centre, the iconic 225-acre property is set on the edge of the breathtaking wine country of South Australia. Once home to a wealthy nineteenth-century pastoralist, nothing rivals exclusive access to the 16-suite retreat which can host up to 32 people. The original homestead, oozing with history and charm since its inception in 1856, is home to eight luxury double suites – each with a unique ensuite of decadent taste. With each varying in size and style, our guests can experience a mixture of comfort and luxury while staying at Kingsford The Barossa. Modern, luxurious and overflowing with timeless character, the new expansion includes four new east-facing View Suites that ensure guests can enjoy uninterrupted views of rolling hills through floor-to-ceiling glass, with access to private courtyards. Another addition is the new expansive Conservatory, which is the perfect location for hosting special events at any time of day with the backdrop of idyllic pastoral views.

We had an amazing stay at The Kingsford in the Barossa!

Service was excellent from being met outside the homestead on arrival to the Personalised attention from all staff - you really do feel like a 'guest'

The location is perfect, being tucked away amongst the rolling hills of the Barossa, but close enough being only a 10min drive to the amazing Wineries in the Seppeltsfield district

The food at Breakfast and Dinner was outstanding, all with a focus on local produce

Our View Suite had all the luxury touches and was huge! The outlook over the green hills was beautiful and we loved the private heated plunge pool

We can't wait to visit again!

This is a truly unique Barossa experience, hosted in a gorgeous 19th century restored farm mansion (as previously featured in "McLeod's Daughters"). The setting is soothing and picturesque, it is very private and exclusive and all the suites and rooms are exquisite. The staff are extremely personable and nothing is too much trouble for them! David, the wine master sommelier, provides an exceptional wine tasting / education experience in the enormous cellar (complete with a "Champagne Room" and 70 seater dining table!). This is an incredible weekend away for couples or small groups of (adult) family and friends. The food served in Orleana is a highlight, especially the History of Kingsford degustation menu. Amazing to visit in either summer or winter. We will absolutely stay again!

The resort is beautiful, the old homestead and aesthetic is very pleasing, I can understand why someone would hire this venue for a wedding, the grounds are very peaceful.

This downside is that this is clearly a resort which is being managed by someone without longstanding customer experience/hospitality experience.
It's disappointing that there isn't an al acarte restaurant on premises for in-house guests. We had a degustation dinner there and was sorely disappointed, the quality of the food was not what we expected for the price. It seemed like it was pre-prepared offsite or in advance. There was a party booked in and the guests were loud, drunk and using profanity. When we expressed our disappointment with the team, they told us not to worry about the bill, that they would followup with the manager. We waited to hear back, only to find that our credit card was charged without our permission. When I reached out to discuss the credit card charge, they never responded. Poor customer service, not how you expect to be treated or the experience you expect at a boutique resort for $1000 a night. Steer clear and spend your money with a venue that will treat you respectfully.

Absoluty everything. We came as a mcLeod´s daughters fan and it really made us feel fantastic to see everything in real. But except that part, we even got so much more than we could have ever expected. The staff were so genuinely friendly and helpful, and really made you feel comfortable. The bush bath was a real nice experience. And then ... dinner at Orleana. Never ever did we had such a great dining experience. Chef Joel´s cooking skills are phenomenal! There are no words to describe the happiness we experienced at that table. And David was the perfect addition and taught us some nice techniques to appreciate the flavors even more.
We will definitely come back!

My family love our stay at The Kingsford. The kids enjoyed the bowling alley keeping them entertained all throughout and the food/service was "majestic" as my son described it. My husband and I were fascinated by "The Vault" and having three bars within the premises is amazing :-) If one needs peace and quiet vibe with a touch of elegance, this is the place to be.

Beautiful accomodation & a decadent food & wine experience with very knowledgeable staff in a historic location of the Barossa. Very relaxing & quiet location not far from the main road. We felt the bush bath should be an inclusion ∂ of the experience not an extra.

Omg, absolutely one of the best weekends away I’ve had, and I’ve had a few.
From the minute I stepped out the car I felt welcomed and at home due to the amazing human being David D’Cruze, one of the most fabulous people I’ve ever met. His warmth, sense of humour, intelligence, knowledge and passion fills you with energy. The hotel is impressive and I felt like a VIP every minute of my stay. I think I’m gonna move in, forever.
Thanks to Kyle for looking after us and making us feel like special guests, Julien, the food was ridiculously good, 100 million stars for you. The hotel in immaculate, the furnishings are sophisticated, brave, thoughtful down to every detail. The pool to die for, the pool bar to die for even more. I can’t wait to come back. Love you all xxxxxxx

Highly recommend a stay on the property. from the welcoming staff to the excellent food, service and drinks. The property has a Tuscan feel about it with its roiling hills and natural landscape. The swimming pool was refreshing on a hot day sipping on a cocktail.

Hi Hayley, We had a change in business structure at the start of 2017 and now offer Kingsford Homestead on an exclusive use basis for groups of up to 14 guests. Rather than hiring individual suites, our guests now have exclusive use of the property and homestead all to themselves for weddings, family reunions, birthdays, special occasions and corporate retreats. We would love to host you as part of a group one time in the not too distant future!
