Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Everything was fantastic. Near new cabin. Well equipped with everything you needed. Very clean and perfect spot looking out over the ocean from your balcony. Very cheap in fact I would say too cheap. Nothing to complain about.

Fabulous, helpful staff! Many thanks to Tracey, Jill and team. You made it so easy to book via phone and so helpful on our two visits recently. What a truly beautiful view! We loved watching the local pelicans in action - amazing creatures. A well maintained park, the premium beachfront sites are surper!

Great location, windy but no one has control over that. Park very clean and tidy, staff friendly and helpful. Beautiful meals from the park shop. We had lovely neighbours and we look forward to returning. One negative and once again no one's fault - entitled arrogant people who take up more room than they should and don't even consider others......they are wherever you go!!!!

What an amazing spot to stay, so beautiful. We stayed in a 2-bedroom cabin, like new, very clean and had everything we needed with a perfect view, could sit on the verandah all day if there weren't so many other things to do there and the surrounding areas. All staff that we spoke to were so friendly and lovely. Cafe onsite where you can eat there with a view and take a few drinks if you want to. Definitely a place to revisit on day.

Beautiful little relaxing town. Great fishing and spectacular views. Enjoyed the coffees and cake at the park overlooking the water and happy hour at the general store. The walks and views were amazing. The park was very tidy, bit cosy but very friendly

Well. If you are into loud fishing shirts, and going fishing, and talking about fishing, and even being packed in like a sardine, this is the place for you! This is a review of a powered campsite. Threes stars is a review I don’t usually give, as I’m usually more inclined to give 4-5 or 1-2. Three stars sounds like sitting on the fence, but I really am with this one. For me, it was intolerable, and we left after a night to camp elsewhere, despite having paid for two (fair enough, our choice, we lose the money, but you would have had to pay me a lot to stay!). Others obviously liked it though. From arrival, it felt like we were just a number. One staff member who was on the phone to a future customer did not even acknowledge customers presence at the desk; at best, good service would have been to take the number and call them back, at nearly worst would be to simply say, “Sorry, just on the phone sir/mam, just two secs I’ll be with you! [insert smile here]”. We really did expect a decent, spacious allotment with a bit of a view. Not so. The layout for vans and campers is simply to give you a place to sleep, whilst you spend your day elsewhere, and your nights listening to your neighbours within a few metres, in our case talking about fishing and smoking cannabis. This is the only place I have stayed where my child said tearfully, “Please make them stop making noise! I just want to sleep!”. The sites were dead flat, hard compacted shell and sand. This wasn’t very dusty but very unappealing, glarey and showed up the fact that there hadn’t been any effective site cleaning or raking between guests, with cigarette buts and lollipop sticks littering our area. On top of that, there didn’t seem to be any grey water disposal methods: we watched as our neighbours shower outlet spewed foaming waste water onto the ground, for the next arrival to camp on, presumably! Toilets were average, clean and acceptable. Food was sad, in my opinion. The heart of seafood country and deep fried fish and chips was really the only option. Would have been great to be able to kick back on the veranda with a cheap white and order some local oysters but this seems to be off the cards. Without being pretentious, I would really rather have been charged 1.5-2 times as much for a site, have almost double the space, a ground mat or fake lawn or something and some tree cover (I get it, water is a premium, but stuff can still grow!). The place didn’t seem really kid friendly to me either. Yes, there are things kids can do elsewhere, but there was no playground on site that we found, or cycle paths, so given that the place was stuffed with large vehicles and boats being moved, it didn’t seem like kids were catered for. All in all, as we were not there for fishing (I like fishing but that wasn’t why we came), and would have liked to spend time just chilling and watching the water from our campsite, aside and away from neighbours, this wasn’t the place for us. In any way. It would be great to see effort made to clean the sites well between customers, and to sort grey water disposal, as well as sort out better spacing and change the layout to give better visibility of the water. All in all I must say I was disappointed.

Great location! Great laundry and camp kitchen. Kiosk stocked and takeaway is awesome! If you’re looking for somewhere to stay definitely stay here! Local shop and bottle shop not far away and neither is the jetty. Caravan park hirers boats if you have a license.
