The village is very well maintained and a great place to hike along the river. There is also a riverboat cruise. Food is a little pricey but not many options close by unless you go to Danville. I'm a local person so I probably don't appreciate the beauty like I should. A drive along 68 is great in the fall.

This place is a snapshot in time! You can just walk around if you want, also a guided tour if you want. They have a great restaurant, and hotel if you would want to stay the night. You should check it!

History is worth saving. They are trying to do that the Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill in Kentucky. The Inn is south of Lexington close to the scenic canyon of the Kentucky River. Daniel Boone trod in this area. The Inn has pleasant accommodations for an overnight stay of one or more days. The Inn also offers fine dining. Cost...

DP and I stayed here with our two pups. It was very cold and snowy outside, but our room was warm and very welcoming. We had dinner at the Trustees House which was delicious. Everyone was so warm and inviting. We hiked on the river trails during the day. The cost was reasonable. We would stay here again.

My husband and I had dinner at the Trustee's Table and stayed on the first floor of the Old Stone Shop. First the dinner....we started with the Tomato Celery soup and it was excellent. I had the pot roast and my husband had the trout. Both entrees were excellent with large portions. Side dishes are served family style. Make sure...

The Shaker village was recommended to us by friends. The room accommodations were simple but very comfortable, and the bathroom new and very clean..the heating system, not so much. Be aware, that there are no elevators if you pick an upper floor room. The restaurant was in the same building as the check-in (make sure you have a regular credit...

If you haven't been to Shaker Village at Pleasant Hill lately to eat at the Trustees House, make a point to go back. This awesome, contemplative place always is wonderful, now the food is too. One of the best Thanksgiving meals and experiences I have ever had. It put Colonial Williamsburg to shame. Are we going back? We were there...

If you love history and a beautiful setting, you will enjoy this place. It is very picturesque and a wonderful place to take photos. It is especially beautiful in the fall. The history of the Shakers is very intetesting. You can easily spend half a day here if not more. Restaurant is great. Lovely way to spend a day!

We stayed at Pleasant Hill and really enjoyed ourselves. The room was uniquely decorated in the Shaker style but with all the modern conveniences (minus wifi) and very clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend staying here.

The Halloween party was great fun for my kid. The fire pits, live music and food was great along with the crafts they had available. The candy was very skimpy but my kid doesn't care for candy anyway. Excellent experience. I
