After a lovely walk on Pegsdon hills , we arrived for our prebooked table (as we were a large group). We quickly ordered. Over an hour later, our extremely expensive food finally arrived. I had the soup of the day, which tasted like hot water and sugar with a small slice of disgustingly buttered bread. My friend had an old...

After a long walk around Pegsdon Hills the pub was a welcome watering hole. We also had a snack lunch but a number of choices on the menu were sadly unavailable. This was disappointing. Despite the pub being quiet, the food also took ages to arrive, as others have experienced. We sat outside on a lovely sunny day in the...

I wish i had checked TA before deciding to have lunch here. I have hugely mixed emotions about this visit! Lets start with the "good". The food was amazing, Myself and my girlfriend both had the Jerk Chicken with Rice and Peas... Stunning. Very flavorful and nicely cooked. There was just one thing wrong with the food but Ill cover...

Booked this place for Mothers' Day as we had a very nice meal here a couple of years ago, but I can only think the management must have changed hands because the service was average at best and the food was awful. We cancelled two out of the three starters - one was a warm prawn cocktail (!), the other...

I was surprised how empty the car park was for a sunny Saturday lunchtime, and inside staff outnumbered guests. Despite this our food was over 45 minutes , and cutlery was supplied with Christmas paper napkins, quite appropriate for the speed of service. After the long wait our 4 meals arrived at 5 minute intervals, so the first had been...

People complain that you wait for your meal here and you do. But as they cook it for you I'm not sure what you expect. If you want boil in the bag pub grub, this is not for you. I had the liver which was melt in the mouth. Lovely veg and extra gravy. Stunning views and a scary creaking...

We visited here on Valentines night 2016 and had a great evening so this year we thought we would visit again, however the overall experience was the opposite of last year. The waitress gave us a very friendly welcome and showed us to our seats and took our drinks order. There were a number of choices on the set menus...

Just had a pleasant stay for 1 night. The room was simple but clean with good facilities for tea coffee etc. The staff were very friendly and the while atmosphere was very relaxed. For 85 quid you cant go too far wrong really. Would stay again

Having had a business lunch at the pub a week earlier I recommend that we returned for an evening meal. The welcome was good and we were shown to our reserved table. It was down hill from there. The orders came out wrong, and the burgers burnt and couldn't be eaten. I meal was deducted from the bill. I doubt...

Bit of a shame really. Staff nice but I wondered when we walked in and the place was empty. At first I put it down to being January but maybe not. Average at best really. I'm not hard to please but I was fairly disenchanted. Must be difficult when you are not getting the throughput really. Maybe it was just...
