This may not be a five star resort, but if its pease and quiet you are looking for I highly recommend the place. Kind of rustic. Had a blast fishing and watching the squirrels.reminds me of being a kid at grandmas just beautiful

It's primitive cabins, very clean. You can take a walk to back side of island and swim and sun; walk 100ft in front of the cabins and you'll be at boat ramp. To the right is swings and play area for kids. Next to each cabin is a fire pit; for roasting hot dogs or s'mores. Yum yum. Fish when...

How can Gwinn Island or anything pertaining to it possibly be labeled a RESORT??? My family used to vacation here when I was young. It was a fishing camp type island then with lake swimming, but sufficient for our needs. Now the place is a TOTAL DUMP and the reviews written here stating that it is "Pure Joy" etc. must...

this place is terrible, roads are hard to navigate if not impossible, sewer is on top of ground, with open outlets, if you dare to go be sure to read your elec meter upon arrival, gives you and amount owed not a bill, the hill getting in and out is very steep, no public restroom, or swiming pool, i am...

We drove over to have a look, the road across the lake to the cabins was awful!! Numerous pot holes, very large ones. The entire island looks extremely run down and I wouldn't take a chance on one of the cabins for fear of falling thru the deck, a gutter falling off, or a roof leak. Bad need of upgrade...

I went to Gwinn Island with a friend for a week. It was perfect!! No loud noise, beautiful scenery and the cabins are rustic but surprisingly roomy and comfortable. I dream about going back someday! I live in CA now so it's a long trip for me but I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, comfortable and...

We stayed in a very nice 2 bedroom cabin on the island. Everything was clean and working condition. This was surpising based on the old reviews we saw on Trip Advisor. Apparently, Gwinn Island Resort & Marina changed ownership almost 2 1/2 years ago. The new owners were very nice and accommodating. We did notice changes as they were pointed...

My dad's family went here when he was little, now my family has started a tradition (10 years this year) and we will continue it. It is an older camp ground with older fishing cabins. We all squeeze together in about 4-5 cabins just to sleep and house the food. We are outdoors most of the time and my kids...

My Mom's family has been going to Gwinn Island since she was younger, therefore she took us when we were younger. This place has so many memories attached to it. I agree with the past review, you must understand that these "cabins" are pretty old. However, we rarely stay inside. The decks are nice to sit on and watch the...

“I liked the 1 bedroom, 2 bed cabin with a screened in front porch, full kitchen and plenty of privacy. We were close to the river...I would recommend those as the view of the river canyon is amaxing!”
