We ate for the first time at Horsted Place last night as part of a large party. Dinner was really excellent. Nobody had a bad word to say about a dish. My venison was probably the best I have eaten - I sense that the chef insists on really good raw materials. Fresh crab starter delicious. Service was friendly -...

Thank you very much for your kind review following your dinner at Horsted Place. Our Head Chef does indeed aim to use the best possible seasonal produce and it is very rewarding to know how much you and your friends enjoyed eating here. The passion fruit jellies are a great favourite and make a perfect contrast to the chocolate treats...

My friends and I, have had a few afternoon teas in our time, and we all concluded these are the best scones we've ever tasted! They were as light as a feather, slight crunch on the outside, soft and short on the inside, tasted buttery-perfect. The price is very reasonable,£21 for two scones, raspberry jam(tasted homemade) and clotted cream, three...

We were so thrilled to read this review and to hear how much you enjoyed your visit to Horsted Place. Our afternoon tea menu gradually evolves with the seasons but two things remain constant - our homemade scones and Chef's signature raspberry jam which is a great favourite with our many regular guests. Thank you for taking the time to...

We had lunch at Horsted Place. This Victorian mansion, hidden from the highway, made a charming venue. The food was lovely, in fact delicious. Staff were very friendly and attentive. I dare say we will return. We chose from the set menu; the bill for food and drinks was £40pp.

This is a very special place to visit. We were immediately taken by the architecture, decor and service. The staff in particular were professional to a level above 5 star. However, as the cost was also high, I feel slightly entitled to point out a few very minor but none the less significant issues. Our room had slightly stained (behind...

We went for a family celebration Sunday lunch on Sunday 14th August. The food and service were excellent. Beautiful surroundings and we had a game of croquet after finishing our coffee on the terrace.

It may look like a typical Victorian Gothic hotel, but the friendly helpful staff put the hotel into a different league. There seemed plenty of people keen to help us enjoy our stay- from a light lunch in the garden to a late night drink. The public rooms are all impeccable, and the lack of an obtrusive reception provides a...
