Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Only a small park, mixture of onsite vans, cabins, powered and unpowered sites. Great camp kitchen facilities with everything you need, ensuite site is a bit larger than standard powered site, and facilities clean (just need your own towel). It is expected that all the 10pm noise curfew is adhered to (which is all good with us). Only a short walk to the beach, great location for trips to Normanville, Myponga, Cape Jervis etc. Will be going again :)

We have just returned from our first stay at SVCP. It was a fabulous stay with both staff and guests were friendly and helpful. The location and proximity to the beach is perfect. The sites a green and well cared for. The camp kitchen is well set up including plenty of fridge space and details like dish washing detergent! The kids loved the treasure hunt and we all enjoyed several takeaway meals from the cafe! Last but not least the shower/toilet facilities are clean, well kept and spacious. We will make this destination an annual holiday!!

The team at SVCP are amazing. My husband and I were stuck mid-lap of Aus, no home to go to, feeling a bit like "outcasts" in our own country during the COVID Crisis. The SVCP team were so understanding, welcoming, and allowed us to refuge here. They strictly upheld the hygeine and distancing regulations, so we felt completely safe, and for that I cannot thank them enough. We loved the abundant bird life in the park! We look forward to returning in the future under better circumstances.

We contacted the park and spoke with Trinity, as we were planning on arriving on the afternoon of a public holiday, to stay in a cabin for a few nights. We asked Trinity if it would be possible to reduce or waive the public holiday fee as 1) the cabin was not booked for the entire long weekend, and 2) check in is after 14:00 and so we weren't planning on staying during the peak public holiday long weekend. She said that pricing was determined by Head Office, and not by them, so by looking on the website, we figured this would be Family Parks. We contacted them and they explained that their involvement is purely for marketing, passes and complaints, and that the caravan park itself is responsible for its own pricing.

I rang Trinity back, and she was very quick to tell me there was no way I'd spoken with Head Office as it was a private business and wont take calls. I asked her if Head Office was her mum, and her reply was that she was standing next to her when she initially took my call and they said there "was no chance in hell" of getting a reduced price. On top of the rudeness and bluntness coming from what I thought would be a customer service based business, she proceeded to tell me that Head Office does not take calls (may or may not choose to call me back), and would communicate by email only. She then proceeded to tell me that the extra $60 charge for the first night was to cover a cleaning fee on a public holiday. That in itself is interesting seeing as no-one was staying there over the entire weekend. I would have been satisfied with a normal friendly discussion about them not changing their fees, but to be spoken to so rudely just confirms what other reviews have written. It astounds me that in order to keep that $60, they lost 3 nights of accommodation. This was going to be a last minute booking, so its highly doubtful someone else will book a cabin during the week. Very disappointing, and unprofessional. We were regular visitors to the park and wont be going back.

Unfortunately it is not possible to provide a lower score than 1. The cabin we stayed in did not have basic amenities such as toilet and the separation of the double bed and bunk beds were some rather stained hospital style curtains. There was fresh linen though! The cabin smelt musty and so clearly they didn't bother to air it prior to arrival (assuming it was shut up for a prolonged period beforehand due to c-19 restrictions, but no excuse for not managing the cabins properly when no visitors are around). Manager and "lady" were dreadful, constant complaints about talking and kids playing, you cannot make any noise after without these idiots taking offence to enjoyment.

Purchases of food from the "hot food counter" were an affront to them personally, met with huffs and puffs and rolling of eyes, like you were somehow disrupting their work.

All in all, there are much nicer places to stay in the area and I would strongly suggest you use them instead of here. It is close to the beach, but that is about it. We had hoped to support a local business by visiting there, but truth be told, it would probably be better if this place folded and made way for a management team/owner that is more suited to the hospitality industry, understands customer service and dealing with members of the general public.

stay in a lovely clean, shaded caravan park with great facilities and a lovely atmosphere. The toilet facilities are always kept clean, and shower facilities were also clean with warm showers. Close to a small beach but with lots of things to so such as snorkeling, beach walks along the coast, and calm water for canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming

The caravan park is overpriced for the lack of facilities and we found it not very kid friendly. The Good: The park was relatively clean and is walking distance to the beach. The Bad: The tent/caravan sites are small. The owner is extremely rude when he is in the wrong and does not take responsibility for there mistakes. Be aware that during our stay although they say that the rain water is drinkable it had little wriggles in it, so you will need to bring plenty of water.

It was a wonderful place to stay for a weekend away. We were blessed with the weather.
Bed was comfortable.
Easy access. Quiet. Nice and secluded.
Cooking utensils were lacking and a bread knife and steak knives would have been good to have.
Wifi could not be accessed inside the cabin and was very poor outside.
Mobile phone, both Telstra and Vodaphone were not available inside the cabin.
FTA TV was good to watch AFL.
Would be happy to come back again.

In November 2017 we held a memorial service for my mother at Second Valley. Family came from all over the world to see her off. We hired many different types of accommodation at the Second Valley Caravan Park. And the Second Valley Shop staff organized a fantastic “farewell -to-mother” dinner for all of us. We had a good day and created new memories that also included my mother.

The Second Valley Caravan Park was a perfect location and the managers and staff were absolutely fantastic to us both with the accommodation and dinner.

We can’t thank them enough for their part in making a day so full of memories indeed very memorable.
