What can I say about the place.
Accommodation was fantastic. New bright clean facilities. Could though do with some sign posting though as there were a few different wrong roads we went down before finding it

Golf Course was challenging and good. Condition was not the best at the time but what issues there were will be fixed quite quickly anyway and the course should be within good nick within a month.

Staff at the Golf Course were excellent and helpful in the Pro Shop and the Marshall was on the ball getting everyone organised

What did upset me though was the lack of food available on site.

As we were in a group of 12 on a golfing weekend we were absolutely astounded to find that we were unable to get anything to eat on site that evening.

As they had a wedding booked the restaurant was occupied with the function and was not even able to serve us in our room or elsewhere in the club house.

We were informed at this time we needed to make a booking by the staff yet know one from Riverside Oaks had advised any of us of this requirement in advance

Considering the place is quite isolated we were left at our own expense to pay for taxis to an alternate location to find somewhere for dinner or go hungry as by the time we found out the issue we were unable to drive as people had already had some drinks

Considering very soon the establishment will have 36 holes available and should have by now had plenty of experience dealing with people staying on site you would think arrangements would be in place to feed the people staying on site regardless if a function was on or not.

Had breakfast the next day in the club and the food was great.

All in all would go back but the restaurant situation is pretty poor.

People paying their money to stay on site in my opinion should be more than welcome to be fed on site regardless of a function taking place. It ain't rocket science to come up with alternatives and by not coming up with alternatives the club is not looking after their guests

Unfortunately the clubs stance to forsake their guests made us feel unwelcome and left a sour taste from what was a good weekend

My wife and I just spent 7 days at Riverside Oaks. We stayed in an upstairs unit with balcony which had fabulous views of the golf course. The accommodation is upmarket with free wifi and daily room cleaning service.
I brought my golf clubs with me from Cairns and loved both golf courses - the inside 18 is older and more scenic which my wife preferred as she was driving the cart. The newer 18 is more of a challenge especially if you miss the fairway, it can be a ball-eater so be warned. A nice touch is the carts have GPS which makes life much easier. Also the guys in the pro-shop were friendly and helpful. I must mention the 1st class pratice facilities with driving range, putting greens near the 1st hole on each course, a chipping green near the club house and another with bunkers. Another plus is the abundance of wildlife on both courses. All in all a good golfing experience.
The only downside which wasn't their fault was from 8am-8pm one day there was no water - so no shower after a sweaty round of golf. To the resorts credit, they did supply us with bottles of water and kept us informed as to the progress with the water repairs. On the subject of water, we would suggest buying bottled water as the tap water in the resort rooms is undrinkable with a bit of a 3rd world look about it. The food in the Brasserie was excellent and a great buffet breakfast was included in the price. All the staff that we encountered there were great, with excellent customer service skills.
There is a small shopping centre with supermarket, bottle shop and bakery about a 15 minute drive away.
But for me it was all about the golf and that's the big winner for Riverside Oaks - 4.5 stars from us!

We made a last minute decision to go away for the night on Good Friday. I clicked on this resort as it had a really good special. I was surprised they had vacancies over the long weekend. We had a Deluxe Room on the ground floor of lodge 1. I'm not sure what the previous reviewer is talking about with the noise above. I think I only noticed something once the following morning. I couldn't even hear people walking up the stairs. The room was gorgeous, even without the views of being on the first floor. It was clean, spacious, warm and nicely appointed. The king bed was fantastic and we were excited to find bathrobes. Which were amazingly soft. The bathroom was modern, clean and had plenty of space with really lovely toiletries.

The fine dining restaurant was closed due to Easter, although we probably wouldn't have eaten there anyway. The brasserie was friendly, casual and well priced. Although 7pm for last orders on a Friday night is really early. We had an enjoyable meal and dessert.

Access down the to the restaurant and reception is a little dicey though. I wondered whether you could arrange to picked up and dropped off in one (of the many) golf carts but there was no mention of this anywhere. We took the bush trail boardwalk back up after dinner even though I think it was actually closed. It still seemed safe.

The breakfast was fairly average but for $20 pp I wasn't expecting much. Eggs cooked to order would be a welcome addition.

Overall I loved the resort. Although we're not golfers so I can't comment on those facilities. The room was gorgeous and the setting is amazing. Sad we didn't see any kangaroos though!

Stayed at Riverside Oaks ‘Resort’ for 2 nights in November. Executive suite rooms were large and spacious. Ours was clean, though friends found food (chips) between lounge cushions in their suite. Only 3 meals of 4 were served at dinner together in the brasserie. The tuna special was good. At breakfast we were told breakfast was not included. When I challenged that it was part of the package staff were reluctant to believe and were rather rude. I then spoke to the manager who sorted breakfast to be served to us. When I later spoke to a member at reception I was advised the staff did not transfer ‘breakfast included’ information in the booking (booked through external provider) and this was a mistake. We were looking forward to an afternoon by the pool. However the pool was unusable as it was green. Apparently reception staff hadn’t been near the pool so they weren’t aware. Very disappointing stay here. We love to come to the Hawkesbury area to look around and explore; however, we will not be back at this ‘resort’.

Nice clean room, comfortable bed but ... continental breakfast was all that was in on offer but as commented by other guests” more was spent on the paper bag than the food”. Given in a bag because kitchen in closed on Monday and Tuesday. Cold muffin, no choice of anything, you got what you got, yoghurt (don’t eat), small bag of cereal and a small apple. No toast and you had to pay extra for a coffee!! No serviettes (napkins) to be found either. 1 person making coffee with a group of people waiting. Not fair on the staff member. No bar or restaurant open on arrival. Called reception 7 times before arriving to check if there was a microwave in room. No answer!!! On arrival receptionist said “oh sorry , we are having trouble with Telstra “ and there’s no microwave in room so a trip back to town was needed. Not a great start to the day for a place with such lovely surroundings:(

Stay away. It’s a disaster !!!!

Staff are rude and do not give any info. Course is a disgrace and bunkers haven’t been worked on for a long time

Toilets either blocked, out of order or toilet door locks hanging off . NO towels and a RIP off !!!

Stay away and don’t waste you’re money !

Membership increase to $5500 per person, regardless of gender. This is for Gangurra course ONLY. Shared cart price of $2000 p.a. And if you have no one to share the cart with it will cost you an additional $25! A complete rip off. Course conditioning, service and facilities is not worthy of these prices.

Great service from checkin to dinner and finally best bacon & eggs roll in Sydney.staff friendly and efficient (esp Lisa)

If you have a group or just a few close friends you couldn't find better value. If I was to compare it would be close to stay and play in Hunter Valley.

Riverside Oaks was great when we played and dined there last week. The clubhouse has had a major refit and provided a fantastic venue for dinner and drinks following our game of golf. Food was well prepared, the staff were very courteous with the best views in my opinion of any clubhouse in Sydney. The course was in very good condition. My only complaint was that the clubhouse is closed on Monday & Tuesday. Overall, a great experience and looking forward to our next game and dinner there.

Absolutely enjoyable experience. Friendly staff and great accommodation. Two days of golf and an overnight stay with golfing mates. Breakfast and awesome coffee included. Would highly recommend. If you have overseas friends visiting, a stay and play would definitely show them our unique Australian landscape and hundreds of kangaroos. I will be back again soon.

Transport options are slim, you can either arrange for a van to pick you up and take you there (approx. $130 per person), a taxi (much more than that), or a train from the airport into the city then a bus to Dural and then a taxi (heaps of time and about $50 per person ish). Not any easy destination without transport I am afraid...
