Set just off the mostly quiet B37, with the stream running and cascades covering much of any road noise, this is a wonderfully restored settlement, with well appointed quarters; great ambience within and cleaned-up country setting around. Lovely walks in the area and short drive to Port Arthur and most parts of the Tasman peninsular. As a bed and breakfast... More

Cascades is a restored convict site where we took up residence in room 2 of the Officers’ Quarters. Comfortably and elegantly furnished with colonial décor, period furnishings and all mod cons inside the 2 rooms: a sitting-dining room including kitchenette, and large bedroom with ensuite. The fire was set ready for us to light and an abundant supply of hot... More

If you are after the true Port Arthur experience - or you just want a beautiful and quiet place to get away from things - this is the place for you. Position - It is near the Koonya road, which is just off the main road to Port Arthur. This means that it is quiet but easily accessible e.g. we... More

Stayed here on our recent trip to Pt Arthur. Great room, beautiful restoration, period furnished. Be aware of a resident ghostly night watchman who does a door check around 8:30pm each night. Take along some eggs and bacon if you want a cooked breakfast as only continental provisions are provided. Would definitely stay there again. Beautiful location on the waters... More

Officer's quarters converted to charming b&b accommodation. Magnificent setting overlooking beautiful Norfolk Bay, approx 15mins from Port Arthur. Magnificently restored late convict era built buildings. Functional kitchenette, lovely wood fire, decanter of port provided, and very snuggly bed. All in a setting steeped with amazing history. Marvellous.

This is a first class example of colonial accommodation. The setting is wonderful, overlooking Norfolk Bay. We stayed in the "Workshop" originally a convict factory fully restored to a luxury cottage. Many of the other buildings on the site have been faithfully restored and provide a great example of how we should be maintaining our historical heritage. The small family... More

Had a lovely stay in one of the cottages in June - would have loved to have stayed longer to enjoy the serenity and history. Cottage was great. Open fireplace was the highlight and just knowing we were staying somewhere so carefully restored was a treat. Property has it's own museum on site and a visit there is a must.... More

Authentic restored convict buildings make an appropriate stay when visiting Port Arthur convict site. Interesting small family museum on site. Pleasant walks onsite; can sign up for wildlife spotting tour at night. Lost power one night in big storm- Marcus provided candles and a torch; fire laid and ready to light. Cozy night! Only negative for us is that it... More
