I visited the Black Horse Inn for the first and last time for a family birthday celebration on the Tuesday before the Easter Break. I ordered devilled chicken livers to start. I had not had these before so didn't know how they should come. The came on some toasted bread with a mushroom sauce over the top. Upon eating the...

Stayed for dinner, bed and breakfast. Lovely room, friendly, attentive staff and food to die for! There are dog friendly rooms available so we'll definitely be returning with ours. We highly recommend.

Visited this establishment last night with my boyfriend, his son, my 2 daughters and my dad. Due to my mother being very poorly the mood was not great but our spirits were soon lifted by very polite and accommodating bar staff and great food. Varied menu with something for all. The pub also has a takeaway menu. Do bear in...

Been to the black horse twice. Both times we had a lovely meal. Surroundings and decor are nicely done with lots of old pictures are the pub and it's surrounding areas. The food is delicious on both occasions. My only criticism would be the chocolate brownie sundae, there wasn't much flavour other than the clotted cream. Everything has been great....

Had lunch here with our son and his partner. The food was great. I can recommend the buttersquash risotto the plaice. The pub is also very atmospheric with hops everywhere and the beer is excellent. Will definitely eat here again.

Have been here now three times and it has always been busy, so I would recommend booking in advance. Visited for Sunday lunch the first time, my wife had the roast and a pud which she really enjoyed, I decided on pork belly, very nice indeed, most of the meals here are old school cooking which is really nice including...

We are regular diners at the Black Horse for a number of years. We visited recently to celebrate my retirement. As per usual the service was friendly and speedy. The menu offers so much and should provide for all comers, including vegetarians. The food was very tasty, as was the wine and the beers available at the bar. I have...

When I booked I was not aware the accommodation were chalets remote to the main building (my fault) I stayed on a fairly miserable March night and was given a room at the bottom of the site. It felt a bit like staying at the bottom of a car park. The rooms were spacious and just ok. The bathroom needs...

Lovely welcome from all at the Black Horse, superb food - hubby has been raving about both the devilled chicken livers on toast starter and then the calves liver main. Had my fav starter, chicken liver pate, and it was too good ! Will recommend and return ourselves. Thank you John and all the waiting staff. Jayne and Mark.
