#3 of 3 Speciality lodging in Amelup
Mt Trio Bush Camp & Caravan Park is situated in a peaceful natural bush enclave on a working farm bordering the Stirling Range National Park. This is the ideal 'base' to explore the Stirlings.Leisurely bush walks around the camp reveal an abundance of seasonal orchids, wildflowers, wildlife and birdlife. Enjoy the bush but with the luxury of 'power'and clean hot showers. You can enjoy: Nature Walks, Open log fire (in season), choosing your own camp site, table tennis room, complete campers kitchen with bbqs, fire pit, fresh water.

We loved staying at Mt Trio bush camp & caravan park it has one of the best camp kitchens I have ever seen, with a large pot belly fire place, board games, a guitar for anyone to play. Situated in a peaceful natural bush area on a working farm on the border of the beautiful #stirlingranges and #bluffknoll only 10mins drive away and an easy 4.5 hr drive from Perth. Enjoy the sounds of the Boobook Owl and the Tawny frogmouth as you drift off to sleep. We highly recommend this camp ground if your in the area. Amenities are minimal as it is a bush camp so do not expect 5 star showers. Follow us for more pics @robshaztravels

Stayed for 3 days unfortunately have to pay before you find a pitch. Spacious pitches if you don’t want one of the few power sites. Not all power sites have water either. Lack of maintenance on site and nature walk. MOSQUITOS all day and evening. No personal fire pits and communal fire hit and miss on whether lit or by whom. Amenities clean but old and thought overpriced for what is available. Stayed at better bush camps

The campground provides you with all that is needed for a wonderful, bush getaway. There is plenty of space, especially for the non-powered sites. They have an easy self check-in process set up at the entrance. You can select your own spot to set up and there are plenty of trees to provide much needed shade in summer. The camp kitchen is large and clean. The toilets and showers are kept clean, with plenty of toilet paper and even hand wash provided! The only two negatives for us which are issues out of the hands of the owners. One was that it was extremely windy and we were being bombarded and covered in dirt. If we had picked a different camp location on-site we may have avoided that. The other problem is that due to its close proximity to Bluff Knoll, a lot of the other guests get up in the middle of the night and early hours of the morning to go climb the mountain. Whilst getting themselves ready there is the constant banging of car doors, so we did not sleep well at all. Be prepared with ear plugs! We would stay here again, bring our ear plugs and place ourselves away from the dusty, dirt area if it’s in summer!

We went to the Mt Trio Bush Camp for the morning Guided Orchid Walk with Jarrad and John (BIG THANKS). It started at 8.30am. We got there at 7.30am, signed up for the walk and had a cup of tea in front of the fire while we waited for the walk to start (BYO Tea, they prefer if you sign up for the tour the day before). The 1.5-2hr walk experience was absolutely fantastic! We saw about 20 different species of orchid and the guides were extremely knowledgable. I definitely recommend this tour for anyone with an interest in wildflowers and Stirling Ranges Flora. The tour is $25 if you are camped with them and $35 if you are coming from elsewhere & Well worth it. It would be great to stay at the Mt Trio Bush Camp on our next Stirling Ranges Trip, I love their creative use of recycled materials and timbers to create the camp communal facilities.

Clean, great kitchens, amazing fires massive facility and spaced out. No micro management. Make sure you have a mallet and variety of pegs as the ground is tough. but that is life when camping Hot hot hot showers. (possibly time for a new fridge) its the best spot and perfectly located. Its remote but accessible. A TRULY PERFECT SPOT
