Mt Trio Bush Camp & Caravan Park is situated in a peaceful natural bush enclave on a working farm bordering the Stirling Range National Park. This is the ideal 'base' to explore the Stirlings.Leisurely bush walks around the camp reveal an abundance of seasonal orchids, wildflowers, wildlife and birdlife. Enjoy the bush but with the luxury of 'power'and clean hot showers. You can enjoy: Nature Walks, Open log fire (in season), choosing your own camp site, table tennis room, complete campers kitchen with bbqs, fire pit, fresh water.

The campground provides you with all that is needed for a wonderful, bush getaway. There is plenty of space, especially for the non-powered sites. They have an easy self check-in process set up at the entrance. You can select your own spot to set up and there are plenty of trees to provide much needed shade in summer. The camp kitchen is large and clean. The toilets and showers are kept clean, with plenty of toilet paper and even hand wash provided! The only two negatives for us which are issues out of the hands of the owners. One was that it was extremely windy and we were being bombarded and covered in dirt. If we had picked a different camp location on-site we may have avoided that. The other problem is that due to its close proximity to Bluff Knoll, a lot of the other guests get up in the middle of the night and early hours of the morning to go climb the mountain. Whilst getting themselves ready there is the constant banging of car doors, so we did not sleep well at all. Be prepared with ear plugs! We would stay here again, bring our ear plugs and place ourselves away from the dusty, dirt area if it’s in summer!

We went to the Mt Trio Bush Camp for the morning Guided Orchid Walk with Jarrad and John (BIG THANKS). It started at 8.30am. We got there at 7.30am, signed up for the walk and had a cup of tea in front of the fire while we waited for the walk to start (BYO Tea, they prefer if you sign up for the tour the day before). The 1.5-2hr walk experience was absolutely fantastic! We saw about 20 different species of orchid and the guides were extremely knowledgable. I definitely recommend this tour for anyone with an interest in wildflowers and Stirling Ranges Flora. The tour is $25 if you are camped with them and $35 if you are coming from elsewhere & Well worth it. It would be great to stay at the Mt Trio Bush Camp on our next Stirling Ranges Trip, I love their creative use of recycled materials and timbers to create the camp communal facilities.

Clean, great kitchens, amazing fires massive facility and spaced out. No micro management. Make sure you have a mallet and variety of pegs as the ground is tough. but that is life when camping Hot hot hot showers. (possibly time for a new fridge) its the best spot and perfectly located. Its remote but accessible. A TRULY PERFECT SPOT

A short email regarding potential mass campers with CV 19 restrictions lifted was answered quickly reassuring plenty of room and low numbers due to the season. The whole place is set out well with full weather protection for campers to cook and sit around a fire or slow combustion heater. Plenty of parking location types under trees, open or close to facilities. Nothing was run down, shabby or abused. Soft toilet paper is a general big ticket item and the prize was won. This is the closest you will get to camping without realizing you are in a structured facility. Even the method of payment means you dont even think you are in a camp ground. Plenty of native wildlife, roos and my squadron of Maggies that chortled to wake us up every morning. The view we had was priceless of the ranges on the NW side which changes daily as rain came and went. We had a camper on solar power and parked away from most which is easy to dao with lots of privacy. Greenery all around but unfortunate fires have left there mark at the boundary of the property as the NP starts at the fence line. Lots to do close by. Dont miss out on the bakery in Mt Barker. Not many places around where you can burn mallee roots at night on the camp fire and no shortage as well. I am definitely returning to do a wildflower walk and enjoy some more scenery in a different season. Top marks to this set up compared to Van parks or National Park copper log every thing. One tip when driving, is that the Hoppies and emus are plentiful so don't rush on the roads around the ranges.

So glad you enjoyed the camp, its particularly heartening to read your lovely review after the recent fires . The fires which started by lightening strikes, ravenged the Stirling Range NP between Boxing Day and New Year. Thankfully our home and Mt Trio Bush Camp & Caravan Park are still standing and we cant wait to see you back. The Ranges are still majestic just different and a site to behold. See you at the next Bluff Knoll Ski Club Meeting . LOL. John and Margot
