Just returned from a surprise 70th birthday meal for 10 at The Bell - only one comment AMAZING I had the skate which was cooked to perfection. The service was extremely efficient and friendly. Thoroughly recommend The Bell - especially for celebration parties. Will be back

Stayed for 1 night. - Room was lovely (slightly on and small side - double room) However it was clean and tidy with all that we needed for 1 night. We did book dinner however when having drinks before we discovered a lot of the menu was not available. Because of this (and the fact one of the mains we...

Dear Rachel M, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us, it's much appreciate. I totally understand your disappointment about our menu on the evening you stayed. It's certainly not representative of our usual standard of service and for this I apologise. We are a friendly bunch, so I do that you'll reconsider allowing us to be of service to...

They had run out of lasagne which meant that the ONE veggie option wasn't available. We weren't offered an alternative so we had to go elsewhere. How old fashioned and ridiculous. Also very pretentious and with few tables available.

Dear Emily C, Thank you for your feedback. I'm very sorry we weren't able to accommodate you with your preferences during your visit. We are aware that the vegetarian options on our menu can be limiting for some and, while this didn't necessarily help you on this occasion, it's something we do hope to rectify going forward. Kind regards Samantha...

We decided to sample the lunch menu at the bell as we have booked a table with friends later in the month. When we arrived we were greeted by the staff and I asked if we could have a table for lunch and was told we could sit anywhere. When we sat at a table for four we were told...

Dear sallypenny226, Thank you so much for taking the time out to review your experience at the Inn. It's disappointing to learn you didn't enjoy our dishes and that you experienced issues with some of your menu choices, ultimately resulting in your cancelling your forward reservation. We pride ourselves on serving locally sourced food and it would seem on this...

Stayed for two nights, staff are very friendly also the food was excellent. Bedroom was clean and comfortable. The bar is inviting and also has a large open fire, the drinks prices are competitive. This hotel is also dog friendly. Would definitely stay again.

We've just returned home from a lovely night away at the Bell Inn for our wedding anniversary. Our room was spacious with a good size bathroom and a nice, powerful shower! The room had all the usual amenities including tea and coffee (and biscuits) iron & ironing board (fairly rare nowadays), heater and fan in the wardrobe, TV etc. I'm...

Warm, comfortable, conveniently situated in lovely surroundings, The Bell made us Welcome with a roaring fire and matchlessly polite and unflappable staff. The rooms are comfortable, clean and quiet. The bar carries an excellent (and expanding) range of gins. It also coped efficiently with the growing demand as guests arrived. The wedding went off without a hitch (staff fitting in...

Ahhhh, the Bell Inn. Cozy tartan sofas, massive log fires, entirely random service... it always feels like you've popped to a friend's house for a drink, and they'll be with you just as soon as they've fed the dog/ hung up the washing etc. It only adds to the charm. You can wile away a few hours over dinner (if...

Booked a table for late lunch - 3 adults & 2 children and from the moment we arrived it was clear that our presence was an inconvenience.
