When my partner and I decied to travel to Iowa City to be married, we wanted to make certain that our wedding night would forever hold special memories. How lucky we were to have discovered the Brown Street Inn. Previously leery of B&B stays because of their variability, the absence of any distinctive hotel options in Iowa City pushed us...

After finding the ratings for Iowa City hotels were pretty much negative or indifferent, we chose the Brown Street Inn for three nights while at a conference because of the TA ratings. We were fully satisfied, and this B&B exceeded our expectations. All of the positive comments other reviewers have offered are spot on, and we would echo them. Mark...

We didn't know if the Brown Strret Inn could live up to all the rave reviews which they had received on Trip Advisor, but they did! Our innkeeper Mark could not have been nicer. Both the room and the breakfast were excellent! The location, in a beautiful neighborhood of large cottages just a few blocks from downtown Iowa City, was...

Mark is an attentive host and runs a first rate establishment. Knows local scene and asks the right questions in advance of making an informed recommendation. I was on a business trip, traveling alone and I would love to bring my wife next time. Tastefully decorated and maintained with care. Do yourself a favor and stay here. My only reservation...

Just a very nice, very welcoming place. Fresh-baked cookies in the afternoons, great breads, grains, yogurt, fruit for breakfast. The public spaces are gorgeous, with lots of local art on the walls, and wonderful lighting. Great small things - like tea and water available in the upstairs hall, in-room fridges, that sort of thing. I can't say enough about this...

What makes my review different is I do not stay at B&B's.(until my daughter treataed my sister and me). We were planning on meeting in the middle, I am from Minnesota and she is from Illinois. We both love machine embroidery and there was a seminar at Shields Sewing. Little did we know when I tried to make arrangements that...

Stayed two nights this week at the Brown Street Inn while on business in Iowa City. The place is immaculate yet comfortable. I enjoy B&Bs because my needs can be met more easily than at a large hotel with hundreds of rooms. And the owners have a vested interest in meeting those needs. I felt anything I needed would have...

My wife and I just returned home from our stay at the Brown Street Inn. We were hoping for a special place to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, and we were not disappointed. The house is beautiful, the rooms immaculate, it is within walking distance of downtown Iowa City, has free Wifi, is extremely clean, a comfortable bed, the price...

We picked this inn out of many other reviewed B&Bs and were not disappointed. It is very tastefully decorated both downstairs and in the bedrooms. The host was very welcoming, friendly and knowlegeable about Iowa City. We had a small refrigerator in our room stocked with soft drinks and also access to teas and coffee during the day. The breakfast...
