Thank you so much for choosing to stay with us as well as writing a review for the hotel. I always pass it along to my staff when their hard work has been mentioned/noticed! Thank you for helping to motivate them to always provide the friendliest and cleanest place for visitors to stay.

Staying during the Iowa State Fair can get pretty pricey, but the convenience of walking across the street to the entrance gate on the main concourse, and leaving after a long day of entertainment is impossible to put a price on. Great room, nice pool/hot tub. Never heard a sound from other rooms. Planning next years stay.

Thank you for taking the time to write the review for our hotel...Everyone loves our beds and many guests call me after their stay to inquire as the brand and type so they may purchase one for their homes! :)

Who would have ever thought the manager would give out a room key without checking ID !!! Had all my jewelry stolen !!!! While scoping the hotel grounds for some evidence that may have been left behind, found a DAGGER !!! in the storm drain !!! Would never stay here again !!! Not a safe place !!!

This was an isolated incident that was dealt with as effectively and swiftly as possible by the hotel staff as well as local law enforcement.

A friend and I stayed there one night. The manager gave out a room key without asking for an id. The people that got the key ransacked our room and stole our jewelry and money. Our room was on the 2nd floor and the video camera does not work on the 2nd and 3rd floors. Enough said.

I am tempted to rate this more like a five-star hotel since for the money it far exceeded my expectations, especially in view of its location (very convenient to downtown and right across the street from the Iowa State Fairgrounds west entrance, but in a neighborhood that has seen better days). The staff went beyond the call of duty to...

We were visiting Des Moines, Iowa for my son's graduation - and money was a little tight. But we still wanted a pleasant hotel stay. This hotel property was purchased 4 years ago, and they are still doing improvements. A little TLC is needed on the exterior, so when we pulled up, I was slightly worried about the hotel. However,...

We used Award rewards points from Choice Privileges to stay here after I flew into Des Moines after a long flight as it was an hour drive to where we were heading. An added plus was there was an event we were visiting at the fairgrounds exhibit hall and it was close enough for walking. We stayed on the 2nd...

Stayed there during the busy state wrestling weekend. Was lucky to get a room booking months in advance. Proximity to fairgrounds was noteworthy although that wasn't our destination. Check in was smooth and the rep was polite. Room was clean and a bit more than I expected for this price. Nothing fancy but it was comfortable and the LCD tv...

We stayed on Nov. 23, 2013, a Saturday night. It was very clean and the staff was extremely helpful when I thought I had left something behind. They called me at home to say they had looked for it but could not find it. I later found it had fallen out of the car in our garage when we returned...

My five star rating takes into consideration the class of hotel certainly. But, for a very affordable economy hotel this one ranks towards the top. When you are just looking for a clean room, warm bed, and hot shower at a value in Des Moines, this is the place to stay. Staff is friendly....and location is convenient.
