I stayed at one of the few tent camping sites by the river. The scenery was very nice. I camped in several Iowa state parks in the last few weekdays and those places were almost empty. Pulpit Rock was almost full. The grounds seemed to be well maintained. The shower house/ restrooms were clean and there were people everywhere cleaning,...

Nice park perfect for visiting NE Iowa. 50 amp site over on the Twin Springs side. If you want more quiet ai recommend the Twin Springs side. Lots of places to fill your fresh tanks. Also a dump station on both sides. Some road noise but nothing that disturbs. There is a stream that runs trough the middle for fishing....

Very pretty Campground. The town is beautiful. Campground has a locals-only vibe to it. Flooding had closed nearby bike paths. Some are washed out so they will be closed a long time. We've done a lot of camping but this is the only place we've ever encountered mandatory 2 trailer pull throughs. Campground does not accept reservations except for on...

We stayed the last two nights and the place is over-run by twenty-somethings partying until 2am. Staff take no responsiblity for their renting adjacent sites; each with 2-3 tents, holding groups of 9-10 young folks who were drinking, yelling, playing music too loud and keeping most other campers awake with the noise and drunken behavior. It was miserable staying there....

We come up to Decorah 2-3 times a year to go trout fishing and most often camp at Pulpit Rock. Decorah is a good central location with lots of stores and restaurants. Pulpit Rock Campground has very nice, shaded, roomy sites. We like to camp along the Twin Springs trout stream that runs right through the middle of the campground....

Nice small campground on the edge of Decorah. Very inexpensive. Lots of shade trees, cold spring-fed creek running through the grounds. Sites are quite close to each other, so if you are looking for privacy - there isn't much here. But if you enjoy making new camping friends, you will like Pulpit Rock. Lots of bike and walking trails, clean...

We stayed a couple of nights visiting relatives in town. This place gets crowded! There are two campgrounds and we stayed in the Twin Springs section. The upper campground where you check in seem large and spacious but boy was it busy. The section were were was too but it's a bit smaller so doesn't give the feel of being...

This is a great campground. Right on the Upper Iowa River and about a half-hour walk into town. Trails nearby, clean bathrooms and showers, vending, firewood for sale, friendly staff and quiet in the evening for a campground of this size.

My son and I've been to this campground three times in the last year. Price is very reasonable and the trout fishing near the campground is an added bonus. You are close to town but you feel like you're out in the wilderness. There are excellent fishing spots around this campground. I would definitely recommend this to anybody wanting a...

We did not set up a reservation and they were able to accomodate us very nicely just before a very busy weekend. The staff was very nice. We ride Human Powered Vehicles and the campground had access to two routes which we found quite enjoyable, one being very easy and the other being a very serious challenge. The sites were...

“Some sites are closer to the river and some may not be very level. The staff welcomed us to check out the available sites to see which we liked best. We pull triples and had no problem negotiating in the campground.”
