We stayed for one evening while traveling through Iowa. We will stay here again next time we are in the area. The price was very reasonable for the service and comfortable lodging we received. We reserved a king standard room. Our room was on the 3rd floor. The staff was polite and professional. The lobby area and our room were...

We visited for a couple days away for my husbands birthday. We love this hotel. The staff is so friendly. The morning breakfast is super with fresh food constantly being put out. The rooms were clean, quiet and cozy. We love the rustic atmosphere. Large hot tub area so you don't feel like you have to wait for someone to...

Breakfast was problematic. Protein was either hard boiled eggs or on one occasion scrambled. Scrambled eggs were served in the same dish as hash browns and the serving utensil was encrusted with hash browns. (+ they were cold). The hard boiled eggs had no shells yet were in an uncovered giant bowl. There were other examples of really shoddy sanitation...

We stay in Des Moines, IA every week during the summer months. This trip was supposed to be my husband and myself, but I decided to bring our daughter (16 year old) instead of my husband. When we got to the hotel we had asked to switch to two double beds instead of a King. Well the only way they...

Thank you for your feedback. We often upgrade guests to higher priced rooms if we have plenty of availability. Rooms with 2 queens during the weekend are in high demand due to all the city wide tournaments that the city of Des Moines hosts. We had many teams in the hotel last weekend and could not give any complimentary upgrades....

After staying in a host of generic hotels across the Midwest, it was a pleasure to see the unique hunting and fishing lodge decor at Wildwood. The lobby is an inviting two-story space with lots of tables and chairs and a fireplace. It's a lovely place for groups to hang out and also to eat breakfast (which is pretty good,...

We stayed in a king room, the bed was super comfortable. Huge TV. Large bathrooms with shower. Good hot breakfast. Would definitely stay again. The staff were great, very nice and helpful. The décor and lodge feel make for a unique experience.

Our family travels a lot and stays in Des Moines three to four times a year. I am glad we only stayed for one night. The beds are horrible. I think I may have slept four hours. The wobbly night stand was falling off the wall, not to mention three screws were totally exposed. The bath tub surround had an...

This was a great place to stay for a business trip. Included a refrigerator in the room. Soaps and lotions were in dispensers. Breakfast was great. Comfortable lobby with fireplace. They were doing some construction/remodeling during the day but it didn't bother us in the evening or at night. It has several restaurants within walking distance.

Great place to stay. Very unique, definitely not a cookie cutter type of hotel. My room as well as the lobby was outdoor themed, mostly fishing themed. Beautiful building. Breakfast was fantastic. It was a freshly cooked hot breakfast with several choices. I'd definitely stay here again.

Cool little hotel right off the interstate. Room was comfortable, but not over the top. First time I have ever seen a molded walk-in shower in a hotel, but it worked. A little hard to get shower to right temperature. Décor was really cool throughout the place. I really liked that the lobby had a front and rear entrance to...
