A warm welcome from Herb and Janette was our introduction to our fabulous 'home away from home'. An awesome location in Emu Bay on K I gave us glorious sunrises and sunsets (if the weather is kind).
The accommodation is fastidiously presented, with many extra touches, both practical and decorative : motion sensor lights in hallway, extra pillows, cushions, knee-rug on lounge, all modern kitchen conveniences, etc.

Herb has a long 'island history' and his suggestions ensured we had the experiences we wanted and so enjoyed.

There couldn't be a better place to stay on KI!

The house was especially well equipped- absolutely everything you could need on a holiday. It is a well designed house that allowed sharing the space with a group of people comfortably, with a separate sink and bathroom section from the main bathroom so when someone was having a shower there is another area to use to get ready. The main living area is closed off from the bedrooms, so if someone wanted to stay up it would not disturb those wanting to sleep.
There is a balcony which has an amazing ocean view and we enjoyed having our breakfast overlooking the ocean. It is situated in a very quiet area, with no traffic and an easy stroll to a beautiful beach.I would highly recommend this home and we would love to come back again.

Fabulous house, beautiful location and our lovely hosts Herb and Jenette have thought of everything any guests might need, even down to a beach bag and kids beach toys.
Herb is a wealth of information on how to fit in visiting all the best places on K.I. during your stay.
Located 15 mins from Kingscote, Emu bay is stunning with a cute penguin population that’s a must see at dusk.
The lavender farm did an amazing breakfast and we had to bring home some lavender giant scones for friends.
If you’re there in summer stop past Mini Delights food, coffee and cocktails van near the beach, awesome espresso martini’s 😋
Thanks for a great long weekend Herb and Jenette we’ll be back! 🤩

'Searenity' at Emu Bay, Kangaroo Island, is a wonderful, relaxing place to stay with all mod cons and more. Janette and Herb are wonderful hosts and really enjoy showing you around their bnb as well as being great ambassadors for the whole of the island. They are most helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The lounge area and deck have amazing views of the bay. The beach and rocky area just a short walk away are wonderful for exploring. We visited on the Queen's Birthday long weekend 2020 (which was fairly cold) and found the house comfortable and stylishly furnished with heating in the main living area and electric blankets ont he two Queen sized bed). We wanted for nothing, there were even picnic utensils and thermoses for hot drinks when out and about. Everything was clean and tidy and very well organised. I would highly recommend this bnb for anyone visiting KI and wanting a comfortable, relaxing home to stay in. The location is about 15 - 20 minutes from Kingscote so you will need your own transport to stay at Searenity.

We highly recommend you Stay at Searenity at Emu Bay when you visit Kangeroo Island. Not only is Emu Bay the place to be on the island, but the Searenity villa is so comfortable, clean, well equipped and so lovely that none of us actually wanted to leave!! It’s truly a home away from home with everything you can imagine or need. The kids were thrilled to have toys, books and games, and we enjoyed the magical views of the ocean and home comforts.

Herb & Janette are the most amazing hosts, they’re super knowledgeable about the island and gave us great tips on where to visit. Their wonderful hospitality started even before we were due to arrive, they gave us the heads up about the ferries being cancelled, which allowed us to change our ferry time and in the end saved us our holiday.

We had such an incredible time and were so impressed with our stay at Searenity that we will be telling everyone this is the best place to stay when visiting KI.

Recently, my husband and I spent 5 glorious nights in a self contained, fully equipped, 1 bedroom apartment at SEARENITY at picturesque Emu Bay, with its long white sandy beach. After disembarking from the ferry at Penneshaw, we arrived at our accommodation to be welcomed by our hosts Herb and Janette who showed us over the spacious apartment with its modern fully equipped kitchen, beautiful en-suite, living/bedroom area with flat screen TV with Foxtel, and free Wi-Fi. There is also a 3 bedroom self-contained house situated at the rear of the property, ideal for larger groups and families.
Over the coarse of the following 5 days we visited many of KI's tourist attractions and also wineries, breweries, distilleries, and restaurants, where we thoroughly enjoyed the local produce. Herb was extremely helpful with directions and other advice because of his thorough knowledge of the island On a couple of occasions we even drove the short distance into Kingscote to purchase fresh seafood which we cooked up in our kitchen for dinner.
A thoroughly enjoyable 10 out of 10 holiday stay in a serene and tranquil setting.
A big thank you to Herb and Janette

Thank you for taking the time to write your very kind review - much appreciated. We are so pleased you found enough places to visit and enjoy to fill your days even though there were some major tourist attractions closed due to the impact of the recent bushfires. We're glad you chose and enjoyed your stay in our holiday apartment and maybe you'll consider returning to visit and enjoy those places you couldn't see this time.

Spent 4 nights here and the house is perfect. It is so well looked after and they have everything you could think of and more. I would highly recommend staying here and would easily stay here again. The hosts are very kind, helpful people. The view is lovely, you can eat breakfast outside while enjoying views of the ocean.
Very short walk to the beach.
Only comment I would add is to remind people there is no food, supermarket, petrol station etc. at Emu Bay so you do need to drive to Kingscote for dinner or bring supplies, so no popping out for late night snacks!

We spent four wonderful nights in this immaculate house in Emu Bay.
This is the best appointed house we have stayed in, every thing you could think of is there, it is also very comfy and homey.
The surrounds are lovely and peaceful, and the views stunning.
So do your self a massive favour and head to Kangaroo Island for your next get away, and be sure to book at Searenity, Emu Bay.
You won’t be sorry 😀
