My boyfriend and I stayed here on a little road trip in November 2014 following some research into the national park we had seen some really good reviews on this hotel and we werent disappointed! The room was a really good size, clean and well appointed. The bed was really comfortable, we had a great night sleep after a long...

We called in on Friday evening after a day out walking hoping to have a meal. They were really busy but after checking said they could fit us in and we were served with a lovely meal. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. I would suggest booking first especially if it's the weekend as it is obviously a...

I loved the atmosphere immediately on entering this well decorated quaint pub. The open fire made me feel very warm and cosy. The menu was exquisite and I really enjoyed my meal. The waitress was very friendly and attentive, I highly recommend a visit and I will gladly drive a round trip of 65 miles again for my lunch :)

My wife and I travelled a 70 mile round trip to eat here as we had heard good reports. Sad to say ours was very disappointing, we have many years experience in the catering industry and we both enjoy good food and service and frequently visit some excellent restaurants. When we informed the waitress that my wife could not eat...

We had eaten here before, when visiting our son, who lives nearby, and returned with two friends to stay overnight. We have found this to be the best place to eat for miles around. The staff are attentive, polite, and service is excellent. The food and menu never fail to disappoint, with exciting dishes, from locally sourced produce. Our overnight...

We stayed for two nights last month as part of a tour around Dumfries and Galloway. It only has two rooms (and a cottage next door which we heard about through others). The rooms are well furnished and comfortable with everything you need. The pub is great, serving better than average food and great beer (my husband's a real ale...

We booked to stay here for 3 nights in October and it was a lovely stay. The rooms and the pub itself are a lot more luxurious than one would expect, the bus stops right outside and it is literally only a few minutes walk to the Glentrool visitor centre for Galloway forest park. The rooms are lovely; comfortable, modern,...

I recently stayed here whilst doing the Southern Upland Way. The staff couldn't have been more friendly when I walked in after completing 18.6 miles. What's more when I had no phone signal to contact my accommodation the following night, and asked where there was a telephone box, they offered free use of the hotel phone, a minor point, but...

We booked a table here whilst on our camper holiday on August bank holiday. The quality of the food was brilliant and the service really friendly and relaxed. I don't often get a steak cooked exactly how I like it (medium rare) but this was one of the best steaks I have ever had. Thanks for a great evening.
