This lodge, in the Lower Zambezi National Park, was the first place that we stayed in Zambia. The journey (London to Johannesburg, then to Lusaka, and finally a light aircraft to the Royal Airstrip) was fairly arduous, but the flight in towards the Zambezi was wonderful, with terrific views of the Zambian countryside. We were met with cold towels and...

Arriving at Royal Airport is a great experience - and met by a jeep for the 5 minute drive to Kasaka River Lodge. The accommodation is wonderful - the 'tents' on the 'wild' side of the camp are accessed via a high platform allowing animals to pass underneath. Elephants are a regular visitor. Our guide was Jacob who was very...

Our 4 night stay at Kasaka River Lodge was without a doubt the highlight of our six week trip to Africa. Everything about this lodge was fantastic. The "tents" were amazing. Comfy beds, hardwood floors, semi outdoor bathrooms with hot showers and flushing toilets, decks overlooking the mighty Zambezi River. The food was delicious and different every day. We were...

If you've been to mfuwe this is a different experience altogether. Tented accommodation and communal meals! The place is beautiful and provides all the facilities. The river cruise was fantastic although the boat stalled! The 2 hour boat ride to get to the lodge was eventful with a lot of game to see. Wifi is limited to the office area...

A different, yet wonderful experience, compared to our first lodge in Zambia. The mighty Zambezi was full flowing and the atmosphere at the lodge so very friendly. Mwaka was fabulous (have him mimic some hippo noises for you!) and Jacob, a very knowledgeable, friendly and patient guide. Game drive was just great, sunset cruise perfect, visit to the village even...

Our family of 4 had the most amazing time at KRL - thank you so much to all the staff for making our stay so special. A particular mention must go to Joseph our guide who was so informative and entertaining on the subject of all the flora and fauna (and even an expert on the night sky). We saw...

Kasaka is on the shores of the Zambezi. It is 30 min drive away from the Lower Zambezi national park. The staff are very friendly and made our stay memorable comfortable. Good to go all inclusive as there is nothing else for miles around!! The lodge offers game drives- both short and long and river based activities such as the...

A quick drive from the Royal Airstrip you will find the Kasaka River Lodge located on the Lower Zambezi River. Kasaka is part of the Chongwe Safaris and the Norman Carr Safari experience. We were located in the Hippo Pod which was amazing. The Hippo Pod is comprised of two luxury "tents" with a common area and private pool. One...

We spent four nights at KRL in July, and had a wonderful time. There's not as much game in LZNP as in the other NP we visited in Zambia (South Luangwa), but there are also fewer people. So when your amazing guides do locate the animals, you have a far better experience, with the animals less likely to feel harassed...

What a great place, I spent 4 nights at Kasaka and from the moment I got off the plane to when I got back on it, the Kasaka team were very welcoming. My tent was fabulous and very comfortable. Quality and plentiful dining experiences, their attention to detail was appreciated. The knowledgeable guides (thanks to Joseph) were most helpful and...
