Blueys Retreat is a collection of holiday houses. There is a pool, a tennis court and a play room for the kids. We stayed in a 3 bedroom house and it was perfect for our family of 5. There was an enclosed outdoor eating area, as well as a Weber BBQ. The kitchen has great appliances and equipment. The house was beautifully decorated and spacious. As it is self contained, you need to BYO extra towels for swimming/beach, as well as kitchen supplies eg paper towels. There is a village which is a 5-10 minute walk away where you can pickup food. There are also heaps of coffee shops, as well as a helpful chemist. Internet access could be improved. We were in the house furthest away from reception and we struggled to get wifi. The wifi also slows down when too many people use it. Other than that, I would highly recommend Blueys Retreat for a relaxing family beach holiday.

We spent 3 nights at Blueys retreat just after the big floods. The road into it was /is pretty poor , pot holes everywhere. The apartment we were allocated was huge. I expected a 1 bedroom plus kitchenette, which was all we needed. However we ended up in a 3 bedroom upstairs with a dining/lounge room and fully equipped kitchen and laundry downstairs. Needless to say, mainly due to limited eateries at Blueys Beach, it was much easier and cheaper to just cook some quick meals. A drive into Forster's shopping mall sorted us out quickly. The retreat itself is vast, it seems that all the houses/units are owned by individuals who rent them out when they do not need them. The on site restaurant was closed for some upgrade works. There is not much to do at Blueys Beach unless you like to hang around the various beaches all day, however there are several scenic drives to light houses close by. Forster is about 20 minutes away and there you will find a vibrant community with plenty of options. Overall a good relaxing stay

We stayed in a 2 bedroom townhouse for 5 nights over the Easter break. Nathan was welcoming & friendly at the front desk for a prompt check in. Our accommodation was very clean (perhaps too clean as the house smelt of a very strong disinfectant for our first couple of days, though this isn’t meant to be a criticism). It seems the units are all owned individually and ours well-appointed and well looked after). It had all the facilities we needed. Our neighbours were quiet and courteous and it wasn’t overly busy like another resort we visited in the area (to be expected at Easter). We enjoyed many of the local beaches and cafes, as well as venturing to Forster Tuncurry. We also had good facilities for self catering, which we did also. The pool was nice, not overly busy and the tennis court also had balls & racquets to use. It seems the on-site cafe is being done up which will be a welcome addition to the resort, however these areas have suffered during Covid and you can see many local shops etc have closed or are only just reopening. Overall, we had a lovely stay and would like to visit again and stay at Bluey’s Retreat.

We just spent 5 days here on the surface the place is lovely. Set in a tranquil forest like environment. Plenty of cicadas chirping away the house was spacious and comfortable for a party of six. We had a three bedroom Villa, which is fairly well equipped. The pool area is nice but be sure to put the areoguard on as the mosquitoes will have a good meal on you. Under the surface you will notice the cracks, though the villa’s are lovely they are showing there age and sadly so has the maintenance nearly all the light switches are missing the dimmer knobs the cleanliness is superficial it seems they change the sheets fresh towels and a quick run with a dyson stick vacuum. We noticed spider webs in the shower and in the ceiling’s, the toaster needs to be replaced pots in the cupboard were dirty and there was dog hair all over the couch and we don’t have a dog. We ended up buying a pan and paper plates and pre washed the utensils and glasses just to be safe. The houses lack air conditioning which in this day and age you need especially in summer The front desk are pleasant when they are about which is very rare, I went in one morning to inform about the dog hair. I got an apology and they said would you like us to come and clean the house. I replied yes please still waiting 2 days later. We left today so I gather they will now clean the house. High lights every afternoon a cicada killer wasp would come and say hello at the dining room window, they are not small and look like a hornet, the paper wasp nest outside the second bedroom window. Blueys itself is lovely though you have travel to Forster to eat as food choices are extremely limited as you only have two cafes and a pizza shop, a convenience store. Enjoy your stay

We planned to have a nice quiet holiday after nearly two years without a break and lots of significant life events in between. We chose Blueys Beach Retreat via AirBnB, as it presented as a stand alone quiet location. We were wrong. Busy street, noisy residents partying to start with. Then lots of missing kitchen utensils which when we contacted Donna, the host, she was unavailable and responded with a message telling us to purchase our own. We left after two days and moved to a new accommodation as it was unbearable. We then engaged with Donna to negotiate an agreement as the place was not what she had advertised. We were met with dismissive messages and a very poor review of us as paying clients and took no responsibility for her own accountability to the issues that we raised. We left with a significant loss of money and a very poor experience.

We stayed 3 nights and Blueys Retreat is a perfect base for exploring the beaches and Great Lakes district. Spacious clean townhouses with fully equipped kitchens and laundry facilities in a nice complex with undercover parking. Very good Covid Safeplan protocols in place. The pool area was well-maintained and has a spa bath. We recommend buying all your supplies in Forster on route into Blueys Beach as there is only a general store, a couple of cafes and takeaway pizza close by. Seal Rocks is a short drive and we recommend the scenic walk to the lighthouse which offers great panoramic views of the coastline and opportunities to see dolphins swimming in their natural habitat.

Villa was extremely clean and tidy, with everything you need. Received an upgrade without request, which was a great touch.
If you want peace, quiet and relaxation, this is your go to.
Blueys and boomerang beaches, Pacific Palms recreation and bowling clubs are minutes drive away, Forster 20 minute drive away.
The only negative about Blueys retreat was that we couldn’t stay longer!

We stayed at blueys retreat for 3 nights as part of a scoopon deal. The surrounds and grounds of the resort are beautifully maintained and manicured. It’s just a short 5-10 min walk to the little village shops and beach. The accomodation itself I found was average. The villa we stayed in was a little tired and dated. The cleanliness I felt could be improved (I am slightly OCD). There were dead ants all in the kitchen and even after cleaning them up they would reappear daily. Also some flying insects and spiders around the house, although this is kind of expected due to the rainforest setting. The villa did have everything you need and would probably be better suited to a family. The managers/employees were lovely and friendly.
