My partner and I have not long completed our 3 night stay at “The Sleepy Hollow” and were in absolute awe of this retreat. The design of the cabins themselves is well-thought out, with a small space planned to perfection to achieve a feeling of spaciousness which at the same time feels cosy and comfortable. The retreat inclusions are amazing with fresh bread baked on arrival and a box full of local KI goodies to enjoy. The cabin contains all of the mod cons with a sauna, freestanding bath, deck jacuzzi, full kitchen and laundry facilities so that you can truly feel like you are living in luxury. Everything purchased has been done so with the highest quality in mind, even down to the scanpan knives, toiletries and high thread count sheets.
We loved the remote location but you must ensure you have your own vehicle to be able to explore the local region. It’s amazing to see the local wildlife but also sad to see where the bushfire has hit across from the back of the property (although all the more reason to visit!). Also ensure that you take your own food purchased closer to Penneshaw/Kingscote or arrange a prepaid food pack from Carly as there are no local restaurants.
My only room for improvement could be an increase in the daily internet allowance (not for phone/email) to make use of the Netflix available.
Thank you Carly you were a wonderful host and were so accommodating with us planning our dates too (due to issues with COVID border closures and our changing work schedules).

Thank you for your beautiful review of Stowaway Cassie, we really appreciate you taking the time and sharing some pics of your stay. We love you enjoyed all the unique amenities and the wildlife! Thanks for the WIFI suggestion, we are very aware our limited internet access is a challenge but being so remote we only have access to satellite internet, very archaic but there are some exciting technological improvements in the wings so hopefully our guests will have unlimited access to WIFI soon. We really hope you can visit us again one day, we would love to have you back x

We stayed at The Nest at Stowaway for the new year period for 5 days. The villa is beautiful with everything you need. The fit out was of very high quality and the bed and pillows were awesome! We pre ordered the food packages which made things really easy as we did not have to drive at night on the dirt roads to go out for dinner. The food was delicious and plentiful. Carly was a fantastic host. We were on the island for the recent bushfires and she kept in constant contact with us, and even offered to pay for our extra accommodation when we were evacuated. We can't thank her enough, especially as the bushfires were impacting her and her family at the same time. Kangaroo Island is a beautiful place with lovely and friendly people. We will definitely go back and will stay with Carly at the Stowaway.

We spent 4 wonderful days at the Nest at Stowaway Kangaroo Island. The "cottage'" is in a great location with complete privacy & fabulous facilities. We spent hours in the outside spa with its terrific views across the landscape to Stokes Bay. The food packages we had pre-ordered were excellent & that enabled us to eat most meals in the cottage. We enjoyed the facilities so much that we didn't get out to see as much of Kangaroo Island as we had originally intended. Highly recommended for couples who are looking for luxury accommodation in a private setting.

Thank you so much for taking the time to lave us such a lovely review Jim. We are so pleased you loved The Nest and the wonderful experience that is lazing in a hot tub in the middle of nowhere. Thank you so much for supporting us after the bushfires impacted Kangaroo Island and we are so happy that even though the trees that Stowaway looks over are burned the Stowaway experience is still delivering its promise of luxury and seclusion. We would love to host you again one day x

My fiancé and I have recently returned from our magical stay at the Sleepy Hollow. Everything from the moment we arrived being welcomed by the aroma of freshly baked bread to taking in those sunsets whilst soaking in the hot tub.
Our accommodation was complete luxury fitted with everything and more you could imagine. Thank you Carly, we can’t wait to return.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

The Sleepy Hollow at Stowaway Kangaroo Island was the perfect place for us to celebrate our wedding anniversary. From outside, the place is unassuming, although set with an expansive view. But once inside, the extent of the luxury and attention to detail was quite incredible. From the opulent bathroom with sauna, 90deg views and outdoor spa, through to the comfort and design of the bedroom and living area, every detail was perfect.

Beautiful and cosy accommodation located near Stokes bay. Check in was very simple with code provided for access to gate and front door. Super comfy king bed, lovely furnishings and modern kitchen. The shower, bath and sauna were all fantastic. The outdoor jacuzzi is superb. Carly was fantastic and was always quick to respond to any requests we had. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

We stayed at Stowaway 3 nights. Arriving to brilliant sunshine on a Sunday afternoon, we ate fresh bread (compliments of the host), soaked up the views and relaxed in the sauna and spa before having a seafood dinner. The next morning we felt indulged as we enjoyed the continental breakfast and watched the wildlife before starting our adventures at the Remarkables and Admiral's Arch. Having a beautiful space to return home to each afternoon was really special; we relaxed and had a wonderful holiday. We HIGHLY recommend! *****5 stars

This was a last minute honeymoon change of plans for us and we are so, so, so glad that we changed our plans. We stayed in The Nest and it was probably one of the best holiday's we have ever had. The kitchen facilities were great, the bathroom was outstanding and that window bench overlooking the valley was my favourite part of the whole house! So peaceful watching all the animals and sunsets. We had everything that we needed right there, we did still get out and about and explore the island but was good to do some research about what was the closest to where we were staying. Absolutely loved it but would definitely go in Winter next time to use that amazing fire place!

Thank you for taking the time to share your Stowaway experience, we are so thrilled you enjoyed your say - the window seat is my favorite spot as well, its just so relaxing! Excellent tip on pre-researching whats close by, KI is a lot bigger than people imagine. Definitely come back in winter, the ambiance of the fire is really special!

Amazing views, kangaroos grazing right in the back yard. Pre ordered food was delicious and just what we needed. So secluded and private, perfect place to relax. Amenities we’re perfect, only thing missing we’re outdoor table/chairs for eating meals! And close drive to explore almost anywhere on KI. Awesome vacation thanks to the team for making it great!

This was the perfect couples luxury retreat! Spa, sauna, bath, king sized bed, secluded, beautiful! Carly’s attention to detail and hospitality is second to none. Beautiful bottle of sparkling and nibbles on arrival. We regret that we didn’t take advantage of the food options - remember to order a week in advance! We will definitely tell others and come back!!

Thankyou so much for taking the time to leave us this beautiful review - doing a happy dance right now! So pleased you loved the little extras (like complimentary bubbles and nibbles) that we love to provide to make your stay extra special. Great tip on the food ordering, we are pretty remote with weekly supply ordering so cant be very last minute (frustrating I know!) Can't wait to welcome you both back soon x
