A very unique and unforgettable experience. We had a pleasant three nights stay in a self contained 3 bedroom cottage. The place was very spacious and fully furnished with all the essential amenities. Walkable distance to the Rockpool Cafe and Stokes Bay Beach, one of the best beaches on the entire island. Amazing sunset views in our very own backyard. Paul was an friendly, excellent and an amazing host, who gave us the opportunity to feed about fifty Kangaroos at a time right behind our back verandah. Would not stay anywhere else on the island if we had the opportunity to come back. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Kangaroo Island.

I stayed 2 nights at Waves and Wildlife cottages with my husband during our visit to Kangaroo island. We stayed in a one bedroom cabin, which was clean and had all the necessities required for a comfortable stay including kitchen utensils, heating, and a comfy bed. The location is quite remote which we enjoyed, but there is limited phone/internet reception and the closest place to pick up groceries would be an IGA around 30min drive away. The location and scenery is peaceful and stunning with lots of Kangaroos milling around the property during the day. We were fortunate enough to meet Paul and some of his critters which was definitely a highlight of our stay!

We spent 8 days at Waves and Wildlife cottages at Stokes Bay and rate the location and accommodation highly. The cottage is spacious, clean and comfortable in a fantastic location that overlooks the bay and home to plenty of native fauna. Stokes Bay is a relaxed retreat and perfectly positioned for exploring the rest of the island. Paul and Katja were wonderful hosts and Paul will pop by to involve you in feeding the kangaroos in front of your cabin during your stay, must have been 100 or so roos that turned up. We had a great time exploring Kangaroo Island and really did not want to leave.

I cannot rate these cabins highly enough. Not only do they have an amazing view, they are every well equipped and perfect for both couples and families. The cabins are well positioned so that they all have a view and are far enough apart that you don't notice your neighbours. Except the kangaroos which are everywhere! Much better than your average caravan park cabin and lots of thoughtful touches like board games and decent kitchen utensils. We also received a complementary bottle of wine and Kangaroo island honey even though we had only booked two nights. Great value for money and very friendly place.

These cottages are perfect for a no-frills accommodation and the view and wildlife are amazing. Facilities are basic, local town only 24kms with basic supplies but close to Kingscote with larger supplies. The location is perfect to tour the island in any direction. A family run business, Paul and Katja are lovely and always willing to help or have a chat.

We booked 5 nights at Waves and Wildlife Cottages and we couldn't choose a better place! If you are looking for a place to unwind and relax, this is the perfect getaway!! Our cottage was spacious, clean and comfortable and it had all you need for a great stay. There is plenty of kangaroos around the cottages and they come very close to the cottages. You can seat in the verandah and have dinner at sunset while enjoying their company. Paul is a great host, nice and friendly. He let us feed the kangaroos, the lamb and he also showed us his reptiles. He accomodated all our requests and he also gifted us with a bottle of wine and a small pot of honey at our arrival!! The Cottages are located very close to Stokes Bay which is probably the most beautiful beach on the island...if you know how to reach it :) We were lucky to have a close encouter with a seal and dolphins one morning at the beach!! From Stokes Bay you can also easily visit all the Island which is slowly recovering from the 2020 fires. We will definitively come back! Thanks Paul for everything and we wish you all the best!!…

Spent 7 nights at waves and wildlife in Janurary 2021 and it was a great experience. The cabins have amazing views of the ocean and wildlife literally on your door step. The self contained cabins are generous in size and have full cooking facilities. The staff are amazing and there was opportunities to feet wildlife on the grasslands in front of the cabins. Excellent value, very generous size and space. Only a few minutes walk out the front of the cabins to beautiful stokes bay beach with its amazing rock formations. Centrally located to get to all the attractions of kangaroo Island. We will be back again!

Seven independent cottages in a row on a grassy meadow surrounded by kangaroos & wallabies of all shapes & sizes, set high on the cliff top with a sheer drop to the stunning hidden beach, the perfect sunset & beautiful ocean vistas. We stayed in a spacious 3 bedroom cottage ( one bedroom ones were sold out ) with a small kitchen & good sized living room. The kitchen utensils could be cleaned & updated, bathroom could have a few more things & a washing machine & iron was sadly lacking. Luckily we didn't need an aircon in october but it must get pretty hot in the summer. And the place was not cheap. The owners left a small bottle of honey & some choclates along with a note but we never met them. Despite quite a few shortcomings we absolutely loved this place because of its remote, unspoilt location. Travelling to the other parts of the big island was definitely a long drive away but we looked forward to our evenings in this stunning paradise & the company of kangaroos.…

We stayed at the Waves & Wildlife cottages in November 2017 for 3 nights. Amazing nature, wildlife and sunsets. Also loved the cottage with all necessary amenities and luxury, appreciated the welcome wine bottle. We found a wildlife paradise at Stokes Bay and its beach. Writing only now this review due to the sad and devastating bush fires in Kangaroo Island and hope by god that your cottage, the wild life and its surroundings are not affected. Thinking of you guys and our beautiful KI animals.
