This is a tiny romantic hotel situated just 1,5 hour drive from the center of Chicago. The great thing is that it's located in the beautiful forest hidden residential area right at the lake, just 3 minutes walk to the beautiful private beach. And the walk is easy and nice, you can see deers eating grass at the neighborhood houses,... More

We stayed here last weekend on our way from Ontario to Chicago. When we arrived I entered into the restaurant and was greeted by the restaurant hostess (Paige). Seemed odd to have the hostess checking us in, but whatever. The problem arose when as I was trying to ask her a question about parking she cut me off 4 times... More

We had dinner there Saturday night. Service was good. Ribs and surf n turf were both good meals. Calamari was yummy! Great cheesecake!! Drinks were a bit pricey but a wide selection. Quaint ambience and decor inside. Nice view outside as well.

Okay here goes....and keep in mind this is from someone who has designed hotels: The lock on the door to my room did not work .... found the door to my room wide open upon returning from dinner. The lock is cheap and does not catch properly - these are locks with an old fashion key - which doesn't give... More

Our stay at this charming Inn was too short! The setting is beautiful and our Sunday morning walk along Lake Shore was wonderful. The free breakfast was served in the delightful restaurant on premises and we ordered from the menu; the only thing not included was the delicious bloody mary. Eggs, bacon and eggs benedict were preceded by warm cinnamon... More

We were very happy with our stay until the AC shut down. It was a cool morning, but the room was unbearably warm while the hallway was nice and cool. No recourse since the windows are nailed shut. We had intended to stay for breakfast and have a leisurely morning, but we ended up leaving before eight because the room... More

We stayed here in July, 2014, and found the food to be delicious, the rooms were fine if a bit pricey, and the private beach was very nice. We showed up suddenly after another place fell through, and though there were problems with our suite (the door would not lock) they gave us two nicer rooms instead, which were fine.... More

Watch out folks this place is overpriced and they charge you the full amount 10 days BEFORE you check in. I was surprised, but they said it was the norm these days. Huh? I had assumed the half room deposit was sufficient and have never been charged the full amount before check in. Apparently it was in the "small print."... More

This was our second time to stay at the inn, and it has changed ownership since our first visit and undergone remodeling. The coffee area upstairs, and the room above were nice additions. The restaurant was wonderful--both service and food. Front desk staff were pleasant and knowledgeable. We had a pre-dinner drink in the bar, and the bartender was not... More

This is a lovely old inn style hotel that has been well maintained and updated. The rooms are all above the restaurant, which some reviewers did not enjoy. We thought it was a great amenity to have. It was nice to have a full restaurant and bar as there are no others within walking distance. The service was fabulous and... More
