Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Accommodation was required last minute, and was able to get a room easy.

Room itself was very basic, but sheets were clean so it was stayable for short term/overnight stay. Bathroom was a little dirty, so not for germ-a-phobes.

Although breakfast was requested, it wasn't clear whether this was to be delivered or to go to the main bar.

We didn’t want to keep driving as the sun was on its way down and we knew the wildlife would start moving, so we stopped at Alpha and saw the Hotel Motel. Well, our one night stay will be long remembered - for the hole it put in our wallet!
As others say, Rav is friendly and accommodating and nothing is too much trouble but, the hotel accommodation and food prices are very very very very VERY surprising. Silly, crazy, ridiculously expensive for what it is!
We know prices can be higher in the outback, but we left the Alpha Hotel Motel feeling badly ripped off.
The room was spacious and clean but as old as some of the paintings in the Louvre yet the paintings are in better condition. The room was clean, so clean that the smell of disinfectant lingered all through the night making it a bit hard to breathe.
The bushes and grass outside the motel are a total fire hazard yet, the smoke detector had been removed from our room.
Seriously, it’s good to be friendly but better to back that up with a hotel that’s being looked after and is priced realistically for what it is.
Rav and his staff need to get outside to clean the place up, then maybe this would be an ok overnight option - but they would also need to drop the prices for accommodation and food by at least 40%.

On the drive from Rockhampton to Longreach we stopped on a whim in Alpha, looking for a bed and a meal. And , oh boy, were we surprised! The brothers running the show are amazingly friendly hosts, happy to assist with all you need after a long day in the car. I was hanging for a curry. Being vegetarian, I’d expected my chance for a veggie curry to be zero . But, don’t ask, don’t get. Kal offered to cook a Veggie Curry from scratch, as long as we had 30 minutes. Easy done, the beers are cold and the pool table ready for a challenge. The curry was absolutely scrumptious! Rooms are clean, simple and comfortable. I am glad we’ve stopped- do the same so you can experience something different to the bigger towns on your map.

This is Alpha, a small but wonderful rural township. The Hotel Motel went from average to very good on the basis of the commitment of the owners who are currently upgrading the rooms. New aircon, fridges were a welcome addition. Friendly staff.

Alpha Hotel is a great place to stay for budget accommodation. The boys running the place, Kal and Rav are super friendly and always up for a chat. Food is good and the rooms are well kept. Great service!

The Alpha Hotel Motel is a surprise delight. The family running it are a delight and very welcoming. The true gem though is the curry. I think it is worth the drive just for the food. Even if you are passing through you should stop in and order a round of the curry. My second time through this month and am happy to go back again.

After paying at the front bar my wife and I proceded to the room, to what can only be described as a hovel. A stench permiated from the room, everything was dirty, the shower head was loose and had about four holes which were not blocked, the smoke detector was on a cubboard.
The room was infested with mozzies.
I wasn't game to lay on the bed, the whole room was dark and cold.
We returned to the front bar and demanded a refund (which was paid) and we proceded to find alternate accomodation.

I have never written a review before in my 42 yrs of travelling but I needed to write one for this junk pile. This place was the worst I've ever seen, absolute filth.
No other options in Alpha.
When we arrived, I joked with the manager, we wanted the honeymoon suite. Holy hell, what a shock. Husband said of outside appearance, it looked like a place where you would find dead bodies inside. Looked as bad outside as inside.
$130 was not well spent.

This is a fantastic place to stay really enjoyed the atmosphere in this Immaculately presented hotel and the food is absolutely exquisite probably the only downside was the turd i found in the communal toilets and the glory hole in the communal showers other than that top marks!!
