Take yourself to our peaceful setting in the Lost World Valley, relaxing on our big verandahs with a nice glass of chilled white wine and staring up at the rugged mountains of Lamington National Park. Maybe you have just taken a stroll through the olive grove or had a swim in our mountain stream by the old bush hut. Perhaps you were feeling energetic and took a walk up the hill to gaze out over the Scenic Rim at sunset. It's hard to think of work now because as you're chatting and enjoying the afternoon light show on the mountains, it just seems that this old farm is a world away. It is not actually. It is only 1.5 hours from Brisbane and the Gold Coast, but who could believe it when you feel this relaxed. Later on and you have just enjoyed a fantastic meal prepared from one of our Wild Lime Cooking School recipes in our fully equipped kitchen, and now your gaze is shifting between the fireplace and the open skies filled with thousands of stars. Nothing to do but relax, chat and perhaps enjoy another glass of wine. Sound Good? Of course it does. We are offering simplistic beauty at its best. What we offer is an invigorating escape from the mundane in a stunning and peaceful wilderness setting. Romantic cottages for couples or Farm Houses for bigger family and friend groups.

Had a wonderful break at Wild Lime Cottage. Spent 2 nights but wish we had stayed longer. Extremely clean, very comfortable bed, great facilities, and breathtaking scenery. The mornings started well as we were welcomed by a number of sheep. Breakfast on the back deck with views of the Lost World valley was a special experience. I know we will be back whenever we need to 'recharge' the batteries. Thank you Nathan and Jodie.

Our family of four enjoyed four nights in the Widgee Cottage over the school holidays. The views from our cottage were simply breath-taking . From the balcony upstairs, or from the firepit and outdoor seating area down below we had uninterrupted views of the rolling, lush farmland and out towards the mountain ranges of the Lamington National Park. The firepit was perfect for roasting marshmallows and enjoying a drink under the carpet of stars above. The cottage itself was clean and comfortable; equipped with all the conveniences you could expect. Our two boys, 14 and 11, loved the country break and all the nearby activities such as fishing, swimming and kayaking. Our cottage made a perfect base to explore the waterholes and walks nearby. Each afternoon at 4:30, we all had a blast feeding Worendo's chooks, goats and cows. Keep an eye out for the antics of the two Roosters - Jules and his cheeky little rival, Ricky. What really brings it all together is the hospitality of Nathan and his family. Nothing was a bother, and Nathan was a wealth of information about the local area, its history and attractions. Highly recommend this picturesque, tranquil and rejuvenating getaway - right on Brisbane's doorstep.

I recently celebrated my 60th birthday and decided that instead of spending money on a big party which I've done for other milestone birthdays, I would take the family away with me for a long weekend. Worendo Cottages was recommended to me by a friend who had stayed there a couple of years ago and she raved about it. So I decided to look it up. What a beautiful place! I booked the Worendo Homestead for me, my husband, my daughter, son-in-law and their three children. The accommodation was excellent! The Homestead is an old Queenslander with wrap-around verandas to enjoy the spectacular views out to Lamington National Park. The Homestead is very roomy with four bedrooms, a large kitchen, dining and two lounge areas and bathroom. Two large bedrooms with king beds are located at the front of the house, another bedroom with two sets of bunk beds is situated in the middle of the house near a lounge area and there is also a separate wing which contains a king bed and a single bed with trundle as well as an ensuite bathroom. The separate wing was ideal for my daughter's family of five. I also booked the Treehouse Cottage, Wild Lime Cottage and Barcoo Cottage. If you're staying at Worendo with an extended family that includes small children and you want to be close to where the action is, I would recommend the Treehouse Cottage. My son, daughter-in-law and their 18 month old daughter stayed in the Treehouse Cottage which has a walkway connected to the Worendo Homestead and was ideal for putting their daughter down for a sleep while still enjoying the rest of the family in the Worendo Homestead. It was close enough for them to use their baby monitor to keep tabs on their daughter so there were no safety concerns. My other daughter and son-in-law stayed in Wild Lime Cottage which has one bedroom and large living areas. My other daughter, son-in-law and 18 year old daughter and 15 year old son stayed in Barcoo Cottage which is walking distance from the Worendo Homestead. It is modern with two bedrooms and a deck that looks out to the mountains. There are spectacular views from every cottage on the property. We all brought home-cooked meals and everyone gathered in the Homestead at mealtimes which was so much fun. Everyone enjoyed hand feeding the sheep, cows and chickens at 4.30pm each afternoon. There are so many things to do either on the property or within a short distance from the property. I could go on forever telling you how fantastic Worendo Cottages are but it would be much better to have a look at their website and actually stay there yourself. Nathan and Jodie are lovely people. We dealt with Nathan on our weekend away and he is very kind and considerate and extremely easy to deal with. Anyway, as Molly Meldrum says, do yourself a favour and stay at Worendo Cottages. You will not be disappointed. We're all going to stay there again and my daughter-in-law has already mentioned Worendo to her extended family and they will be booking a weekend away sometime in the not too distant future. Thank you Nathan and Jodie for your kind hospitality and for helping to make my 60th birthday a weekend to remember.

The serenity, solitude and breathtaking scenery that Worendo offers provided a perfect holiday for our family. The homestead was completely comfortable and welcoming. The grandchildren had an abundance of activities to keep them happy, from feeding the farm animals, to kayaking and playing badminton with the grown ups. Our nights ended with us reviewing our day while toasting marshmallows at the fire pit, under the stars. It was a truely refreshing time away snd we loved it. Thank you Nathan and Jodie.

We stayed in the homestead with our family of nine. The house itself was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed with enough room to spread out and really relax. Jodie and Nathan were so lovely and accommodating, we felt right at home. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we can’t wait to come back!
