Take yourself to our peaceful setting in he Lost World, relaxing on our big verandahs with a nice glass of chilled white wine and staring up at the rugged mountains of Lamington National Park. Perhaps you were feeling energetic and took a walk up the hill to gaze out over the Scenic Rim at sunset. It's hard to think of work now because as you're enjoying the afternoon light show on the mountains, it just seems that this old farm is a world away. It is not actually. It is only 1.5 hours from Brisbane and the Gold Coast, but who could believe it when you feel this relaxed. Later on your gaze is shifting between the fireplace and the open skies filled with thousands of stars. Sound Good? Of course it does. We are offering simplistic beauty at its best. What we offer is an invigorating escape from the mundane in a stunning and peaceful wilderness setting. Romantic cottages for couples or Farm Houses for bigger family and friend groups.

Detailed Reviews
We absolutely loved our time away at Worendo Cottages. The Wild Lime Cottage has the most fabulous kitchen and breathtaking views. To have sheep literally at our doorstep every day was such a wonderful experience, and our young daughter loved being so close to the animals. Nathan and Jodie were so welcoming, accommodating and did everything to help us (and the kids) have a great time. They were so patient and kind with our daughter who was a little afraid and hesitant to feed the animals at first. The huge deck had uninterrupted views, the outdoor fire was perfect for roasting marshmallows, and the cottage was so clean, with everything and anything you could want or need. A convenient distance from Brisbane, and close to shops etc... if needed, it was a great family getaway that suited everyone’s needs. We highly recommend this beautiful place and look forward to going back one day.

We stayed for 3 nights, as soon as we arrived we feel in love with the gorgeous surroundings and views. Kids loved the farm animals which you can feed every afternoon and roasting marshmallows on your own private fire pit. Accommodation was new and modern in the Widgee Cottage which has a spa bath. Fishing, kayaking are available. And plenty of walking tracks (we visited the Lost World Valley which is a short 2 minute drive from Worendo and then was about a 2km walk), There is no Wifi and mobile service which was fantastic, Unless you have Telstra. Beaudesert is about 25-30 minute drive and the Overflow winery is about another 20 minutes from there. The shed Cafe is a great place for lunch and coffee also has a lovely gift shop it’s a 10minute drive out of Rothdowney.
Overall is a great place to visit and get into back to basics, Host Nathan was very helpful and accommodating. We Would definitely recommend staying here, we will definitely be back again.

We recently stayed at Worendo Homestead, Treehouse Cottage, Barcoo Cottage and Wild Lime Cottage during the school holidays consistent of 8 families - 16 adult and 12 kids for three days and two nights (23-25 September 2020). Nathan and Jodie was a great host and was very easy going with from the start of assisting with the booking process, changing the sleeping arrangements (as the bigger kids all wanted to stay in the homestead in the bunkbed room) and finalising the cottage changes given so many families was involved with their different needs and requirement plus the covid restrictions. They made sure we were comfortable throughout the stay and we were provided all the informations we needed.
Kids plus adults had so much fun interacting with the farm animals, wild birds and nature encounter with easy access to Albert River. Some of us went to Christmas Creek and The Lost World at Lamington National Park for short hike/walk to discover the peaceful wilderness and beautiful rock pool and enjoyed the refreshing dip there while some just decided to relax at the cottage and enjoy the downtime to unwind from the busy week leading to the holiday. Everyone had to agree, the kitchen at Wild Lime Cottage was amazing equipped with professional industrial kitchenware and I can reassure you, it was fully utilised during the stay (as the lady of the family who stayed there really enjoys cooking). Don't get me wrong, the kitchens at the homestead and other cottages that we stayed was great too, fully equipped and was fully utilised during our stay. We had a lovely big BBQ at the homestead the last night we stayed there celebrating a 7 years old birthday. Unfortunately the fire band started when we checked in on 23rd September for four days so we were not able to lit the fire pit outdoors, however we made do of the Treehouse Cottage wood fire burner to let the kids enjoy roasting their marshmallows. We did not managed to see the milky way when we were there as it was too bright, however the star gazing was amazing and the pictures taken could not justify it's beauty.
I can just go on and on about our stay but I think I'll put a stop to it and attached some pictures from my personal favourites to summarise the review. This stay has been amazing and we will definitely come back. Scenic Rim, you are so raw yet so mesmerising at the same time and we can't believe you're just at our backyard. Thank you for making this holiday memorable and thank you again Nathan and Jodie for your amazing hospitality.
Regards,
Dayang Iskandar

We had a wonderful long weekend at Worendo Cottages, staying in Barcoo Cottage. The setting is quite magnificent, with the most spectacular views over the Lost World Valley. We enjoyed drinks by the firepit each night, used the barbeque on the deck to cook dinners and breakfasts, and the cottage was beautifully equipped with every possible comfort. The cottage is decorated with style and has all the kitchen amenities you could need, plunger coffee, quality tea, and there is ample good quality linen and very comfy bedding. Nathan and Jodie are amazing hosts - so efficient, friendly and attentive - we couldn't have asked for anything more. The kids (old and young) really enjoyed feeding the animals each afternoon, playing with the sporting equipment and fishing at The Hut. We also enjoyed some great short walks and drives during our stay. It was the perfect holiday for us and we can't wait to return soon. One of the best family breaks we have had - it is a fantastic place to unwind and enjoy some cool country air. Thank you Nathan and Jodie for a fantastic farmstay experience. See you next time!

We stayed in Wild Lime Cottage and it was absolutely beautiful. The view was breathtaking and the cottage perfect for families with a giant wood table, excellent kitchen, deck area and plenty of comfy living room seating around the fire. So special for our family, the kids just ran free on the big grass area and let us enjoy the deck. Watching the full moon rise was unforgettable. We enjoyed feeding the animals. There aren’t too many structured activities but you don’t need them - the kids make their own fun. Very Highly recommend.

My family consisting of 9 adults and 3 children under 5 absolutely loved our stay at Worendo Cottages. We had both the beautiful Homestead and Treehouse both fully equipped with everything you need. Plenty of room for everyone to be able to move around and have their own space. The outdoor dining on the verandah made for absolutely breathtaking breakfast and dinners. Great place for the grand kids, they had so much fun feeding the farm animals, collecting eggs. Sports and activity equipment readily available. Nathan's knowledge and recommendations for places to visit was fantastic. Check in and out was a breeze. Can't wait to go back again.

We just enjoyed a six night stay at Wild Lime Cottage, resting, reading, walking, playing games and repeatedly sighing with satisfaction at the ambience. It was a joyous, calming, “get away from it all” experience in the country. If you’re artistic bring your sketch pad - the views and their variation with the changing angle of sunlight during the day are magnetic. The cottage is very spacious, well appointed, with extensive cooking facilities (two ovens plus the Weber!) - just stock up on groceries (and beverages) in Beaudesert (a 30 minute drive away) and self cater to your culinary heart’s content.

We stayed to very relaxing nights in the Widgee cottage, it was immaculate and very comfortable with amazing views from every room. There was so much to do for the kids and they especially loved the kayaking and the rock pools. Even though you feel far away from the rat race it has everything you need. The hosts were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. Can't recommend Worendo highly enough - we will be back!

Three of us stayed in Barcoo cottage in early September. The cottage was extremely well appointed and very comfortable with much thought to making it accessible for people who use wheelchairs and have mobility issues. The view is spectacular and peaceful. Viewing the full moon and stars while sitting around the campfire was a highlight. Nathan was the perfect host- helpful, knowledgeable, with a genuine love of this remarkable part of the country. Stunning!

Beautiful place to recharge and be in nature. Nathan was a very welcoming host and so patient with the kids. My kids loved all the animals and made beautiful memories. The cottage we stayed in was so clean and comfortable and always helpful when there was dishwashing soap, paper towel and gorgeous smelling mandarin handsoap. The washing machine was also so helpful after a day in the creek. The kayaking down at the picnic spot is a must!
