We booked this hotel for a two day homecoming weekend. The location was excellent as it is right downtown. I booked a room with a view and was not disappointed. We ate breakfast both mornings in the hotel restaurant buffet. Excellent service and no complaints there. Special shout out to Luis who works as a valet. Very polite and helped us with our bags. Anna at the front desk was also very helpful as she rectified a mistake on my bill. I was especially impressed with their work out facilities. I would recommend and would stay again.
We found the JW Marriott to be an excellent hotel with great amenities, a great location in downtown and great rooms. We had difficulty with the AC in our room leaking and the staff was prompt to work on the issue. They found we would need to move and that was done quickly and efficiently and with great customer care. I would highly recommend staying at the JW Marriott for any future stay in Indianapolis.
I agree entirely with the negative reviews posted by the Trip Advisor community. This hotel is a horrible place that should be avoided at all costs! It is filthy and unsanitary. Everywhere you turn you are confronted with disgusting conditions. As mentioned in the other reviews, there was hair all over our bathroom and dirt on our sheets. We called down to the front desk but they were entirely unhelpful. The hallways had dirt and decaying food all over them and the smell was really bad. There was no way that we were going to stay at this hotel - it was beyond disgusting. We switched to the Westin 2 blocks away and it was the best decision we ever made! There was some construction noise but the hotel was clean and the staff was professional and accommodating.
Not clean. My wife and I found the shower in our 28th floor room with dried hair stuck to the walls of the shower. Completely unacceptable. We definitely expected better than hotel 6 style accommodations consideringthe price. Our first stay in Indianapolis and would never consider staying at JW Marriott as an option if we decide to return.
My family has been travelling to Indianapolis for years because our daughter attends college there. We began staying at the JW Indy 4 years ago when it was a reputable property. Out of sheer loyalty we have continued staying there even though the JW has deteriorated significantly over the past 2 years. The last visit was so horrible that we had to leave after one night and move to the Conrad. The JW Indy is the absolute worst hotel in Indianapolis. It is filthy, poorly managed, poorly maintained and the staff has no concept of customer service. They are inept, incompetent and downright rude. After the 3rd time that I had to go down to the front desk because someone had deactivated my room key, I asked for an apology. The front desk clerk looked at me and said she did not feel she owed me an apology because it was a different clerk who made the mistake. If only her ambition equalled her apetite she might actually be successful in life. Not likely though. The elevators don’t work, the toilets were broken (we had to switch rooms and the toilet was worse in the 2nd room), they removed the refrigerators in the rooms and the sheets on the beds were clearly not clean. The hallways are disgustingly filthy. I could go on but you get the picture. It is a dismal hotel. When we checked into the Conrad and explained why we had to get out of the JW, the excellent front desk angel looked at us and said that the couple who checked in before us had the exact same story. Thank God for the Conrad!! Truly a life saver!…
