It's always a pleasure to come and visit this great castello. Specially during harvest time. We had the best stay in beginning of September 🌞🍷. Great weather and good taste of wine. We cross our fingers for 2015 wine.

we had a tour of the castle and wine making cellars. Detailed explanations were given about wine making and a tour of the Marquis of Pinelli Gentiles private Gardens. This was an exceptional tour with an exceptional host that finished with tasting of 4 different wines, 2 red and 2 white. My wife and I purchased 11 bottles of wine...

If you want to live the atmosphere of a castle that has been owned by the same family for centuries go there and rent one of the characteristic guesthouses located around its walls. We particularly enjoyed La Castagnola guest house and had a lot of fun visiting the whine production area. Be sure to get some Cortese wine for your...

My father and I were on a wine trip through Piëmonte and arrived at the Castello di Tagliolo on May 30th. Mr Luca warmly welcomed us and gave an amazing trip through his winery/castle. He even provided us with a wine tasting without us asking for it. This is what hospitality means in the most origin way. Taking the time...

I was at Castello di Tagliolo with my collegues during a weekend and had the best time. The castle is magnificent lying on top of the hill with a wonderful view over the picturesque village of Tagliolo. Castello di Tagliolo is family owned and this is something you can feel through out the castle, from the rooms, the food and...

Excellent accommodation, unique place and atmosphere. ancient castle with history. In this place everything is unique: place, people, wine and atmosphere in whole. Staing in the castle you can feel how much effort and hard work were done with family for 19 populations of the owners. Wine is unique as well as accomodation. We have been staying twice and can't...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Castello di Tagliolo, owned by Pinelli Gentile family since 1498, overlooks a vast area of vineyards of the Alto Monferrato, acknowledged long ago as among the best for the production of Dolcetto di Ovada wines. All the wines are obtained from selected grapes grown on family estate vineyards, including the famous "Castagnola", a unique dolcetto produced only in the best vintages and oak-aged, the Riserva del Marchese sparkling, Bianco and Rosso del Castello family blends, a late harvest Ambra Nobile, a dolcetto aromatised with herbs and the Grappe. Events such as weddings and gala dinners can be held inside the Castle, as well as overnight stays in the charming furnished Guest House of the Medieval village surrounding the Castle. ... more   less
