Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

All enjoyed a lovely lunch at this sea front hotel. It was busy and ordering was a little slow and chaotic as the queue snaked around bar tables. The food was good although the steak in my Thai rare steak salad was a little fatty and not the best I've had. The Thai sauce dressing for the salad had a lovely hit of chilli

Fabulous staycation, my husband and I stayed in a room on the top floor of the hotel, what a view. Loved sitting on the beautiful balcony watching the sun set. Great room service and cocktails. Highly recommend for a sneaky night or two away that is down the road.

Lovely old pub. Nice clean room. Bed very soft and could feel each other move through the night. Had a balcony and could see the sea. Very friendly staff. Quick and easy at reception. Beautiful old staircase was a challenge. Lots of people eating and enjoying themselves.

Room 404 had to sweep the place out first finger nails on coffee table open bathroom greeted by filthy yellow industrial mop bucket with mop stinking toilet roll holder and towel rail falling off the wall bath has 18 chips and rust in the enamel biggest could be covered by a fifty cent piece most have been painted ??? Front sliding door has no rollers left and grinds on rails hard to open Back door open to a beautiful view of the complex hot water system. One door torn off but the three strips of black tape dangling makes it very attractive spare blanket was filthy and discarded no coat hangers asked for them when I complained to management first day nothing was forthcoming. We did get a 25 percent reduction of the rate payed offered to do a maintenance request with day management but not that interested also invited the them to get senior managers to call and discuss but nothing as expected. Very poor show

Great old pub overlooking the bay. It offers very good pub grub, with daily speacials, a good lunch menu, kids menu and seniors meals. Generous servings an good wine. Order and pay at the bar. Meals are served to your table by friendly staff and the meals were nice and hot.

Went for lunch. It was not too busy, but the food was lousy and overpriced and only basic presentation. Nothing special at all and they have the cheek to charge for premium quality food and service of which there was none. Lousy service, overpriced crap food and presentation. We will never return, and we will not recommend it to anyone.

Our meals were very good - the large sea food platters went down well as did the pulled pork sliders . Decent wine list - plenty by the glass which I like . Staff are great - very friendly people Nice outlook from the dining room - sea views Pricing is reasonable

We stayed for three nights at Largs Pier and loved our stay! This hotel is a beautiful historic building that has been restored - over 100 years old and still looking exceptional! We stayed in a room with a balcony and loved waking up and opening the door to look at the ocean, the sunsets are also incredible! Bed was very comfy, rooms are clean, shower lovely and good lighting in the ensuite. The pub / restaurant downstairs is awesome, we had great coffee in the mornings and cold beer each night, the meals were really good and the staff are SO lovely, helpful and welcoming, they really made us feel like we were down at our local!

Positive: fantastic classy hotel and best room 9 for your romantic gateway. great historical hotel with amazing staff and everything under your hand. there is nothing too far in Adelaide and with new highways its only 25 minutes from the city if needs be. everything was working, stunning views from the room balcony. We will be coming back. Not even a negative..: we really struggled to look for problems and we couldn't find anything serious that could impact us again. but for the reference of future guests the top floor does not have a lift - so really should be focused to get away from everyone to be on the top floor. It's over 100 years old building and floors are not even sometimes - so watch out if u have a problem with your balance, but then again you wouldn't be on the top floor in the first place 😜

Great spot to stop for a drink by the beach, food is pretty average pub fare, avoid the garlic bread, they have no idea how to do it!!! Burnt rolls, dry and barely a hint of garlic, worst we’ve ever seen, couldn’t eat it. Sadly we’ve been there several times just for a drink and seen the same thing served up.
