If you have never stayed at a b&b or inn, or if you love trying new ones, this should be at the top of your list! Doug and Rose have provided a beautiful escape from daily life with their friendliness and attention to detail. The grounds and house are absolutely lovely and the breakfast was delicious! We stayed in the New Salem room for two nights. We were greeted by our host, Doug, and given a history of the property and house. The breakfast was delicious and our room lovely despite being too warm. It faces east and the sun literally beats in the window. If you stay in this room, close the blinds. The thermostat...

We spent 2 nights and 2 yummy breakfasts at Flagg Farmstead! Everything about it.....from Doug's knowledge of it's history to Rosalie's creative & true-to -the time" antique decor..OH! and the tasty, awesomely presented breakfasts (by " Cosely"! Hahaha!) ....was hard to say "goodbye" to. We had a relaxing and fun stay there ( Also, the Lincoln Museum [closeby] is not...

The home was a lovely short distance away from the noise of the city. Our hosts were very accommodating to our arrival and departure times and giving us a tour of the home. They also made helpful (and as we found accurate) suggestions of local places to dine at and things to do. The Lincoln Museum was very well done...

The second we pulled into the driveway we were greeted warmly by Doug who is one of the owners. He welcomed us right in and gave us some history on their beautiful home. We went to Springfield that night and despite our late return Doug still greeted us as he did when we first arrived. Our rooms were nice and...

A very relaxing place to stay when traveling Route 66. Easy to get to and in a quiet neighborhood with beautiful surroundings. The rooms are homey and very clean with a private bath. The breakfast was outstanding!! Would love to stay again!

From the moment we walked through the door upon arrival to the time of our departure, we were treated with warmth and congenial hospitality. We wanted for nothing. The food was delicious. The bed comfortable, and the surroundings were picturesque. We especially enjoyed hearing of the house's history and the hosts' ability to keep it in such outstanding condition.

As we drove in on the driveway, we were welcomed by Doug, the owner. Our room was spacious. The house is immaculate. Breakfast was deliciously prepared by Rosalie, also the owner. We were made to feel very welcomed and comfortable, like we were family. We cannot wait to go back and visit with Doug and Rose. Can't say enough about...

My wife and I stayed the night here on a somewhat impromptu trip to Springfield. Our choices were between Flagg Farmstead and another BnB, but the fact that this particular place did not have a website where you could book a room was very interesting to me. It may not seem like much, but having to call the place and...

Had a great time! Enjoyed Doug and Rosalie's conversation and breakfast. Rooms were fantastic. Hosts were very knowledgeable on the history of the area including the Lincoln museum. There dog Izzie was very fun and lovable!
