Our family of 4 recently camped on the island. The setting is beautiful, the island is fascinating, but the facilities are pretty basic given that you are paying top dollar. For the money I would have expected a thicker mattress or even a stretcher bed (which are hardly expensive). Unfortunately our weekend was spoiled as the Trust also allowed the... More

Nice camping spot but should not be advertised as GLAMPING. Very over priced for what you get. We hired the family two bedroom package over $300 for one night. All beds are single cot uncomfortable camp stretcher beds. No electricity. No extras. As soon as you get there you are hit up paying $7 for ice for the tent esky.... More

We brought our own tent and camped on Cockatoo island for three nights. We used it as a base to explore the city and found it easy and enjoyable to get around by ferry. Facilities (bathrooms and camp kitchen) are excellent. But our showers were a bit cold. Camp kitchen the nicest we have seen. You are camping! Bring food... More

My husband and I booked one of the mini-glamping tents, we unfortunately missed out of the waterfront glamping tents. We booked for one night during the October long weekend here in Sydney. Check-in was smooth and there were no lines, we arrived around 3PM. Our tent had a little wooden patio out the front, where we could set up the... More

We stayed on the island for 1 night in late October and chose the more up market tent with a deck overlooking the water. Grateful we were able to go in the week as it was very quiet with only about half a dozen tents in use,I understand the weekends get busy.Interesting convict and industrial history;staying overnight meant we could... I took my Dad to Cockatoo Island as a Father's Day present. We stayed in one of the "glamping" tents. The sleep was very comfortable, the lounge chairs were a nice touch and the shower blocks were clean and well maintained. It was incredibly relaxing to stay overnight by the water, and being able to wander through the old building... More

Stayed overnight after watching a Tex Perkins concert in October 2014. We have visited the island a couple of times previously and said that we should try glancing. What a unique experience. We arrived early and checked in with no problems. Pre erected tents are simple but comfy with toiletries provided. As I retired the previous Friday the wife and... More

Planned this as a surprise for my parter to kick start his birthday weekend it was a great experience and he absolutely loved it! we brought on our own food to BBQ. The Kitchen area is very clean and well facilitated. The glamping tent had a beautiful view and was very well presented. Despite the cold weather surprisingly inside the... More

We spent the weekend going to sleep with the harbour lights glistening across the water and waking to the sounds of rowers training on the still early morning waters. Our camp stretchers were comfortable and the camp chairs ideal for sitting on the canvas covered verandah. Conveniently located a short ferry ride from Circular Quay. Amenities appropriate to a camping... More

Who doesnt want a waterfront view of the harbour? Great setting and well preserved industrial and cultural heritage. Plenty to do and great facilities. We were blessed with perfect weather but dont miss a bit of time up near the wine bar area; great views over harbour.
