By far one of the best “staffs” in this chain of hotels. This location should serve as a model of how all properties should treat their guests. We have had several company functions at this location with impeccable service from our check in through to check out. Staffers made the effort to know our names upon check-in, welcome calls to us as we settled in to make sure everything was as it should be in our rooms, to even knowing what breakfast items we preferred and made them available each day. (thank you John!) we will definitely be back I would recommend this property to any individual traveling or company with in the Schaumburg area.

This HGI is a great experience. I’m a repeat business traveler here and wouldn’t stay anywhere else in this area! John does the bar in the evening and breakfast in the mornings and does a great job on both! He always remembers the repeat guests and welcomes the new ones too. Food at the hotel is well prepared but John has a lot of good suggestions for places around the hotel to eat also. Arely at the front desk is very welcoming and recognizes us repeat guests as well!

We were so relieved to stay at this property and have adequate staff, quiet, cleanliness and great food. Chicago is a tough market for the average hotel traveler. Downtown is an expensive concrete jungle with an added problem of personal security. The suburbs are a smattering of new and aging properties and picking requires scrutiny of the pictures and reviews. We picked this property in the middle of a large group of hotels because it was a little more expensive than the lower grade properties, but not in the $250-$350 range expected downtown. We traveled with our dog and this property accepts pets although many/most do also. The hotel is immaculate and located adjacent to a pond and a trail including a little foot bridge over a creek which runs along Higgins Road (It’s a little hard to find, head out behind the hotel and behind the other hotel behind it). We found nobody running and yelling up and down the halls at all hours of the night. A quiet place, pleasant staff, and great service. So, the food. It’s a little confusing. Breakfast is included; but there is also a breakfast you can buy for $12.95 including beverages. So I accidentally walked up and ordered the purchased breakfast, which was great and a great staff to serve it. Omelettes, eggs, pancakes, eggs, bacon, fruit; a really great breakfast! Right next to it is the free breakfast with the usual hotel stuff; cereal, rolls and such. A special shout-out to Miriam in the restaurant for making my choices for me and moving around like a tornado with her pleasant sidekick Teresa. Thank you Arely for fast check out and fun conversation. We loved this place; clean, efficient and businesslike. Recommend nearby Weber Grill Restaurant for dinner and the pool was beautiful, but small. We loved it.

I'm from the area and we were visiting family so I knew location was ideal and chose this hotel based on the reviews but unfortunately this one was a miss for us. I hardly got a good night's sleep during our entire stay due to the loud AC. And it was too hot to turn off so just had to deal with it. Aside from the AC, the room and bathroom size were average but clean and had a great showerhead. It was great to use the Hilton app to check in, select a room and use it for the digital key. Our room did not include the breakfast but we did pay $10 per person for the buffet on one of the days when we needed a quick bite but afterwards wish we hadn't. The coffee and taste of the hot foods and pastries were all below average. Even for convenience or quick bite, I would still recommend going to any of the fast foods nearby. Again, location is ideal and all the team members that we interacted with were nice and we noticed there were a lot of business travelers but I personally would not stay here again unless they revamp to central AC. And again, maybe it was just our room and/or maybe I'm a light sleeper but we stayed at 3 different hotels during our roadtrip and this was the only hotel that I hardly got a good night's sleep.

Staying at HGI Schaumburg was a pleasant experience. Friendly and professional staff made our group feel welcome. I was impressed by my interactions with John in the hotel lounge area— he was very attentive and kind. I will remember my stay. I also recently stayed at the HGI in Hoffman Estates. The Schaumburg location seems much better managed than Hoffman Estates and I will choose to stay at HGI Schaumburg in future.

Like pretty much all other hotels in the area, this place has a really good location in close proximity to a wide variety of restaurants and stores. The value proposition was pretty good and the breakfast was tasty, but that’s were the pros stop. The room (2 QN) was rather cramped and looked quite old. They skimped out on towels, forcing us to request more. We also had to request stayover housekeeping THREE times before our room was finally serviced, which is unacceptable. All in all, it was an okay stay but I will probably not return.

I was checked in by the infamous Carlos, who was super friendly and helpful. The room itself was okay. Honestly, I am shocked that the rooms were supposedly renovated only about 5 years ago. The decor is tired and the furniture and carpeting look dated.
However, appearance is not what is most important in regards to this type of hotel room. Other factors are much more important. The bed was comfortable. Heating/AC unit worked well and quickly changed the temperature of the room. Wifi was excellent! They have upgraded Wifi for only $5 but the speed of their complimentary internet service is more than adequate. Water pressure in shower was very high and did not have temperature fluctuations. Wonderfully friendly staff at checkout.
A few minor issues. I could hear the TV and talking in an adjoining room but it wasn't too loud. The bathroom faucet handle was extremely stiff and it was quite difficult getting the proper water flow and temperature. Also, water seeped out of the shower and onto the bathroom floor. They still currently do not have their restaurant open for dinner or room service. However, there are a lot of restaurants nearby.
Hilton Garden Inn Schaumburg would rate 3.5 stars but gets rounded up thanks to friendly staff and the surprisingly low room rate. When rates go back to their normal, higher level then I would drop it down to 3 stars due to the room itself being completely average and not as nice as some other competing properties.

Stayed here for Friday and Saturday nights while attending a family reunion in Northern Illinois. We wanted to be near shopping and also O’Hare to help provide transportation for my brother and his wife who were flying in from Dayton. The best part of our stay was the proximity to the Woodfield Mall and the airport, but otherwise this hotel fell short of our expectations. On Saturday morning, to stay on our tight schedule we arrived promptly for breakfast at 7:00 am, only to be told service would not start until 7:30. Clearly, someone didn’t show up for work, and the entire breakfast staff for the hotel was only that person. The next morning, we simply went to McDonalds to avoid another surprise delay. We went to get ice on our floor and the ice machine was broken. A sign on our bathroom mirror advised that the room would not be cleaned during our stay unless we specifically requested it. Still, you are expected to pay full price for your stay, despite these and other deficiencies. We will stay somewhere else next time we need a hotel near the airport.
