Very clean , quiet room with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchenette is a bonus. The staff are friendly . There is an amazing koi pond with many beautiful fish outside reception. I would definitely stay there again.

The Runaway Bay Motor Inn was a very clean and well appointed hotel with all that we needed for us and our two children. The rooms were reasonably roomy and had a very nice little kitchenette (with table and chairs) that enabled you to store your own food and drinks for meals such as breakfast which is always handy with two children. This saved on breakfast meal costs while also giving us somewhere to sit and eat before we went out for the day.
The staff were friendly and helpful and we had no problems with either check in or check out.
The only minor problem we had was that there was no internet access unless you have a wireless laptop, not very handy when you are trying to avoid taking your laptop on a holiday.
The hotel is approximately a 15 minute drive to Surfers Paradise but was well priced when considering what other hotels were asking for over the Christmas/New Year period. It was however close to the Gold Coast theme parks meaning that the drive back to the hotel after a long day at Dreamworld was relatively quick!

I used to live down the road from this motel and noticed that almost every evening it would be full!!

Now that I live away from the GC and have been visiting regularly, I thought I would choose to stay and test it out.

Have stayed two weekends in total now over the last couple months.

Hotel service is very friendly, rooms are very spacious and easy access to park car.

They rooms are quiet with a simple but effective fit out.

Aircon is a little under powered and cannot be adjusted which is a bit of a negative in hot weather.

Bed are a little too soft for my liking but suffice for one night.

Will be back!!

We stayed there for 2 nights. Motel is great. Wonderful staff who were very helpful. Room very clean, extremely comfortable beds and pillows. Kitchenette facility great, even a little courtyard. Only complaint would be the A/C is difficult to control. It’s in the kitchen and there was no control in the room. Seems it’s set on one temp, one fan speed and you can’t change it. Only turn it on and off, switch by the bed. We arrived for a late check in and the room was warm, when we finally worked out how to turn it on after searching for 10 mins for the control I wanted to turn it down to sleep but we couldn’t so had to turn it off as it was loud. Other than that I would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it.

We chose this motel as it is within walking distance of a very good Italian Restaurant ( Gino's Trattoria) along with the fact that the previous reviews were complimentary. ( If reviews are poor we stay well clear! )
Our telephone booking with Trish was plain sailing and all went smoothly and cordially on arrival. We asked for and were given a room on the upper floor. The room was a good deal more spacious than most hotel rooms with the benefit of a kitchenette and good sized fridge. In all honesty the room was somewhat dated but to counter that it was perfectly acceptable and spotlessly clean.
Just two things as negatives. The bed was ok but if you, like us, are anything other than midgets you may find the size of this bed doesn't allow for any 'wriggle' room! We later discovered that some rooms have a king size bed (at an increased cost of course). Secondly the shower room needs to have either heated overhead light globes or a wall heater. In cold weather it's uncomfortably cold in there!!
Overall we were happy with our one night stay and would recommend to budget conscious travellers.

So quiet, especially given it was the New Year weekend. The bed was particularly comfortable, the apartment was clean and serviced and there were ample towels tea/coffee, toiletries, and best of all was the service. Friendly and hospitable, prompt response to any queries, nothing was too much trouble. It was a very relaxing weekend. Thank you!

Firstly, Trish provided a first class check in process with friendliness, warmth and assistance.
Secondly, the room was clean, tidy, spacious and well maintained. The kitchen and bathroom were both clean and tidy and the bed very comfortable.
There was also a two seater lounge which if required would turn into another bed with a small table and two chairs.
The daily service was also first class.
I would highly recommend this motel.
Well done.

The room and furniture is really outdated. The beds are comfortable.

Close to the theme parks, although a car is required as not close to surfers paradise. There is a shopping Centre close to the motel.

I would not come back here as I had no other choice due to last minute booking.

Laying in bed now at 1:00 am, with only three cars in the car park, listening to next door snoring. Same issue with the air con remote - confiscated! Why we would have neighbours when there are only three cars in the whole place, I do not know. The walls are as thin as I have ever encountered. First it was coughing fits, now that lovely drone from the snorer, obviously enjoying his/her sleep. Arrived during consistent rain, to find every ground floor unit vacant, but our booking is up the slippery stairs, leaving us to lug the luggage up for no reason. Not a happy camper - wait, I am not supposed to be camping! I am in a motel!

Prepare to walk into your great grandfathers last residence.... This place stinks! A damp, musty, old persons whiff smacks you straight in the face the moment you open the door...! Do not stay there. Even the furniture and decor seemed to be sourced from the local op shop or perhaps it came from a deceased estate... We would have rather slept in the car....!
