You have the adventurous drive to get there, as the road is challenging especially in the end. But its worth it -when you get there. Me and kids did not make it with my 4x4 Rav, for being automatic and too low. But the owner Tomas was prepare for this so we received help in no time. Travelled with my...

A trip of a lifetime, can't recommend this place enough - you'll be mad not to visit! Its clear as soon as you arrive that this place is a true labour of love, from the quality of the buildings and amenities to the brilliant service. The lodge was built over four years using local materials and the French owners hired...

Lovely place, hidden in the middle of a forest and right in front of the sea. The area is really preserved, with a beach where almost nobody except local fishermen pass. The landlords are also lovely and manage the place with a great interest of respecting the locals and the environment. They did an amazing job with the creation of...

Dunes de Dovela is a drop dead gorgeous spot - fantastic location, on its own, far off the beaten path, and done with good design and aesthetic, elegant but under stated. The food is gorgeous, and meets up to the billing as French Tropical. The couple who run it operate ethically, but not in a natural, not a showy way....

My boyfriend and I were driving down from Vilanukos to Xai-Xai after spending the holiday in Bazaruto and needed to break up the drive so stopped in on a whim. It was a fantastic idea! The lodge is located about 12k off the main road and you need a 4x4 to get all of the way down the sandy paths,...

We stayed in one of the tents with view over the ocean for four nights. And we really had the impression we were staying in paradise: lovely food, amazing views, great service, beautiful location and awesome owners with a great eye for detail. Snorkeling, reading, taking a sunset walk, playing chess, taking a nap in the hammock, ... are some...

There are four tents in the nature with shared bathrooms with seaview from showers and toilets! You almost don´t want to leave the bathrooms! :-) Or you chose one of the even more comfortable bungalows, seaview included, too. The restaurant area also has an amazing view over the dunes and to the ocean. The food is really, really good, with...

We spent 4 nights in the semi-luxury tents with our 2 and 7 year old children. Two nights we had to zip the windows shut due to rain, and it got a bit hot, but not terrible and we were nice and dry. The toilets and showers were nearby and it was common to view a whale while using the...

The location is breathtaking with views of the surrounding Dunes and the Indian Ocean. We saw several groups of whales frolicking off the coast as the migrated south. Our bungalow was very comfortable and had all the small touches that demonstrate Dunes de Dovela's attention to detail. The owners, Alexandra and Thomas, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and provided...

Nice place. Beautiful view, good french food and nice bungalows and tents. This is a peaceful camp in an uncontaminated environment. Isn't a place for who love the night life and needs an easy life full of confort. You need a 4X4 vehicle to reach it. Near is a diving center to do some boat safari. A lot of whales,...
