The check-in went smoove and the front desk staff was very professional. The front desk lady even offered my 4yr old granddaughter chips for free. We get to our room and it's clean and nice including the bathroom. The beds were very comfortable which had my granddaughter and myself snoring all night according to my daughter. We didn't eat breakfast or dinner at the hotel bc we wanted to save money. We didn't get a chance to get in the pool or work out. No problems with our stay and checkout went smooth. Definitely will stay here again.

Good place to stay when coming to Chicago with a small family. Like many other hotels it’s recovering from the COVID era. It cleaner and in better shape from my last visit. Like other hotels, I saw bread and butter problems with facility level maintenance. I got a room with defective heating, the heat would start and the unit would fail. Oh well par for the course. Just a reminder to check wireless, heating cooling electrical televisions before you unpack. Yes, I’d use this hotel again,. Just would do more checking before settling in.

Chef Jeffrey Dobbs was outstanding and the bartender David made a very good Old Fashioned for me.
Chef Jeffrey cooked up a salmon dinner perfectly. He also whipped up a delicious dessert of ice cream, chocolate brownie with fudge sauce. Chef came out to say hello and was quite personable. Five plus stars for Chef Jeffrey!!!!
Your people at the front desk in the PM hours were not the sharpest and or attentive. Walked by the front desk many times since I stayed at this property five nights on two different business trips. The evening front desk group looked as if they did very little to nothing productive. Just standing at the front desk waiting for their shift to be over. Note: There were other more competent looking and productive people at the front desk that showed interest in what they were doing during the morning hours.
I'll stay at this property again because Maria who is the breakfast hostess in the morning is very nice. Your breakfast selections and quality is excellent. Kudos to Chef Jeff again for the breakfast quality/taste and of course Maria who makes sure each guest is attended to and coffee if hot and ready.
See you next time.

This was a pretty disappointing stay. They charge for lot self-parking (why?? We're not in the city!) and breakfast was also not free (and was kind of pricey for a basic hotel breakfast), we felt nickle and dimed. It wasn't a big charge for either, but it just felt so cheap and weird. They also made a significant point when we checked in to note that housekeeping will not be provided for stays of less than four nights, but of course to call the desk if we needed more soap or something. We were there for 3 nights and you don't realize how small hotel trash cans are until you're the one having to take it out.
Our room was VERY tired to say the least: peeling wallpaper, dated furnishings, significant water damage on the bottom of the cabinet holding mini fridge (it was white and the wood was peeling off, like this is past the point of salvage and it's really just time to remove and replace the entire cabinet), the lampshades were cracked and bent out of shape, and the air conditioner eventually just stopped cooling on our last day, though we reported it on our way out so hopefully it was fixed. On the plus side, it was mostly clean, but it looked dirty because of the poor state of the furniture.
On top of everything, our room was #262 - I don't recommend accepting this room at all! It is directly above the indoor pool and children WILL wake you up screaming and playing as soon as the pool opens at 6am (summer hours). Can't blame the kids for wanting to play and doing so during pool open hours, but I can blame the hotel for having a poor design like this! We asked to move rooms after our first night, having been woken up at the crack of dawn, and the staff told us, "those kids checked out so you shouldn't hear noise again." We did hear loud playing/screaming sounds from the pool again, but fortunately they were during normal (non dawn/dusk) hours and didn't wake us up. Ultimately we did feel dismissed and concerned for the rest of our stay, we just wanted to know we'd get some sleep at night.
Just felt like such a waste of money and only got the impression that they are trying to squeeze and save every cent possible. We stayed here for an event at Drury Lane but next time I'll stay by the mall down the road, even if I have to drive. I'd never stay here again, it's just not worth it.

The Hilton Garden Inn Chicago / Oakbrook Terrace is conveniently located next to the Drury Lane dinner theater and close to Oakbrook Terrace shopping center, and several great restaurants. Unlike other reviewers, I would not necessarily classify this location as "close to Chicago" as with construction and traffic, a drive downtown could take a bit longer than expected. This hotel is relatively clean, but is in need of a refresh. COVID protocols were somewhat relaxed, and the now traditional complimentary Hilton sanitization wipes were not provided. The room we stayed in was lacking in outlets and USB ports for charging our electronics. The A/C was constantly running to keep the room cool, but it was a bit on the noisy side and you can hear the water flowing through the coils when the A/C turns on. You can also hear noisy people outside in the hallway. The biggest downside for this hotel is the parking. The $6 USD charge would be considered reasonable if there was anywhere to park. Half of the allocated lot is for Drury Lane Valet Parking. If you happen to be staying at this location on the night of a performance or large wedding at the Drury Lane or the nearby Hilton, then it may take you a while to find somewhere to park. While the bed itself was comfortable, the pillows were not on par with those at other Hilton Garden Inn locations.

If you Uber in just know there is neither evening restaurant service nor bar service. I sensed the boiler system for heat in the rooms was limited for energy savings as I had it 74 but it never got warm. I am Diamond and get the $10 breakfast allowance to be taken off bill but that was "forgotten" even though the waitress went to front deak to ask about Diamonds. Also know that although the website I looked at before making my reservation indicated there is shuttle service there is not and you have to walk or Uber to dinner if no car. One good point is that the hotel is rather aged based upon the plumbing hardware and you get decent water pressure and heat for a shower.

It's June 2023. No maid service. We paid over $200 per night!. We were told it's "because of Covid". They charged us $6.00 per night to park in the hotel parking spots. The microwave in our room was inoperable. We anticipated a complimentary, continental breakfast. They charge $14.95 per person for paper thin bacon, and scrambled eggs, along with other generic hotel lobby, breakfast items. Very disappointing.

We reserved two rooms: ROOM 1: Air conditioning did not work (it was 78 degrees in the room), it was reported to the front desk several times and was not fixed and we were not offered another room. ROOM 2: Air conditioning could not be set lower than 72 degrees this was completely ignored. Front desk clerk on check in on Friday and on Saturday morning were both rude. I have NEVER not been able to check in to a hotel because my husband was not present (he was getting out bags out of the car). Parking was horrible, the hotel is next to an event center and there is NO reserved parking for hotel guests so if there is an event... Breakfast is not included and it is $13 for a continental breakfast, we went down the street and had a full breakfast for the same price.

The women’s public restroom near the lobby was filthy. The first two stalls had no toilet paper on the rolls, but plenty of paper on the floor. Third stall toilet was stopped up & filled with “stuff”. The only useable toilet stall was the handicapped one, but there was urine on the floor (probably because someone didn’t get there in time due to the condition of the other 3 stalls).
I, too, didn’t quite make it there in time so was irritated to find that I had a difficult time washing my hands. After soaping up, discovered the hands-free faucets wouldn’t turn on. No water. I had to rinse the soap off in the drinking fountain outside the restroom. The trash can was overflowing.
When I went to report the problem to the two women at the front desk, they wouldn’t let me tell them the problem. They just kept on interrupting, saying they knew & would take care of it. They acted bored and rude. There was not one apology.
Hotel lobby was very messy. Again, overflowing trash cans. Chairs at the tables not neatly pushed in under the tables and guests’ coffee cups and other items left on the tables made the room look quite sloppy. The two women at the front desk were apparently too busy chatting and playing on their phones to straighten up the area.
Regarding the bathroom in my room, while the toilet bowl and sink were clean, the rest of the toilet was covered in dust, as was the counter top and the floor under the sink.
No breakfast served here - just a coffee bar. Guest Rooms are not cleaned during your stay and it is difficult to get additional clean towels.
Definitely will not be staying at this brand again, and will perhaps avoid all the Hilton brands as well.

Unfortunately, the pool facilities are quite small. It is adjacent to the gym/workout area, which was a plus for me. There is a small outdoor seating area right outside of the indoor pool. While I was visiting, the facilities were fully functional. A bit of advice would be to call ahead of your visit. The staff is more than accommodating and will go out of their way to assist you. I am planning another business trip to the same area, and will more than likely stay there again.
