Arrived early; while I understand checkin wasn’t until 4, as part of a 300+ person conference, I’d have expected the staff to hustle and get rooms ready. Waited from 8 AM to 2:30 PM.
Room was okay; clean and comfortable bed & bathroom; definitely not new and not what I expected from a Hilton brand.
Breakfast was very good! Food was prepared well.
Sundry store pretty good—need to have a sign posted at payment desk that cash isn’t accepted.
Most staff I met were helpful.
Closing night banquet was to have coffee/iced tea/lemonade/water options. Water was on table; coffee served. No lemonade or tea on offer.
Opening night reception was embarrassing. 2 food lines…heavy hors d’oeuvres, which was fine, but when food ran out, not replenished. The event was too last 2 hours; people who arrived after the first half hour went hungry.
Overall: decent but need to upgrade rooms and step up customer service.

My wife and I travel about 150 nights a year, we split our nights between Marriott and Hilton. We are both Hilton Diamond Members.
We've stayed at this property twice now. Our first stay was less than perfect, but I did not write a negative review. We decided to return this week. Things have not changed, they've actually gotten worse.
We booked a king room and because of our Diamond status, we were given an upgrade to a Balcony Room. Well, the sliding door to the balcony is damaged and will not open all of the way. There is no furniture on the balcony so you can't really use it. Besides, the balcony is in such poor shape it may actually not be safe. See pictures.
It was warm for November (60's) and our room was quite warm. The AC did not work, we were told later that the AC systems have been shutdown for the winter. We actually had to leave the sliding door open to try to cool the room down at night. It was 77 degrees in our room.
We checked in on Sunday afternoon. Our room was NOT serviced on Monday, so Tuesday morning I went to the front desk and requested to have our room serviced. At 4:30 pm, our room had not been serviced so I sent back to the front desk to see what was going on. The clerk was kinda rude and told me that you need to request service before 8:00 am. My request was at 8:10 am. She said she would contact Guest Service's to "see what they could do". It was like she was doing us a favor!!! Eventually our room was serviced.
Overall, not what we are accustomed to from Hilton. We will it be back and will not recommend this hotel.

Special shout out to Camella at the front desk and Anna in the restaurant and bar. These two employees are amazing and do their jobs well with exceptional guest service and attitudes.
Some things to mention that were not on brand was the Terrible toilet paper but not what you except. No Ironing board in the room but a busted one was outside my door on checkin. Thank goodness for wrinkle release. The indoor pool and jacuzzi/spa was drained and closed which was not advertised and still offered as an amenity. I thought, I brought my trunks for this?
The hotel is beautiful on the inside, great spaces and guest rooms are warm and inviting, and you can't go wrong with their cookies. I loved that they were not stingy with cooks or water for Hilton Honors Members.
As a Diamond member I really appreciated that and the early checkin and the extra bottles of water when asked. Get that pool fixed and I’ll stay here again. Not too far from downtown and really great hotel.

I recently spent three nights at the DoubleTree in Oak Brook, IL, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had in recent memory. While the first-floor lobby was attractive and welcoming, everything else about the stay fell short, particularly the dated and poorly maintained rooms. Here’s a summary of the issues I encountered:
1. Lack of Communication at Check-In: As a Gold Hilton Honors member, I was entitled to a daily credit, but this was not mentioned at check-in. Additionally, I was part of a large group that had negotiated daily breakfast, but I wasn’t informed of this or given the necessary coupons until I asked the next day after I missed breakfast.
2. Severe Heating Issues: Upon entering my room, it was freezing, with poorly sealed window vents letting in bitterly cold air despite the thermostat being set to 82°F. The first night was spent in an uncomfortably cold room. Over the next two days, despite repeated service calls, the heating system remained erratic—oscillating between unbearably hot and ice cold. By the third day, I gave up and resorted to cracking the window vents to balance the extreme indoor temperatures.
3. Breakfast Mismanagement: On the final morning, my group arrived at the café at 7 a.m. (breakfast was advertised to start at 6:30 a.m.), only to find nothing set up and just one server on duty. With a tight schedule, I had to leave without eating, as did several others in my group.
4. Other Issues:
There was no hot water for morning showers, which is unacceptable for a hotel of this size.
Upon checkout, the front desk attendant apologized and provided a discount, which was appreciated. However, the $50 gift card I used at check-in was never applied to my bill, and I no longer have the card.
It's hard to tell if there is a pool before arriving. Some sites list a pool, others do not. Signage and Hilton app floor maps show the pool. But it was closed.
Overall Impression: This hotel is in dire need of a renovation and better management. While some staff members were responsive, the recurring issues with the heating, breakfast service, and lack of communication significantly impacted my stay. I cannot recommend this property and would advise others to look elsewhere until these problems are addressed.

No sanitizer at or near breakfast buffet so guests are not sanitizing before touching serving utensils or after unless you have your own.
Shower hottest temperature was lukewarm. With minimal water pressure. Raised bathtub makes the shower head seem to low for a tall person. Bathtub Drainage was slow but maintenance came and fixed it
No mini fridge or microwave in room. So don’t expect to keep anything cold. And they didn’t have any available upon request. They said they were first come, first serve. But on New Year’s Eve that doesn’t take long when the hotel is sold out. I felt bad for elderly who were still checking in and discovering that they could not refrigerate their meds.
Our room carpeting was filthy
Had turn the room temp to 80 just feel comfortable and not cold.
Everything outdated! Including the doors inside the room were like the steel emergency exit type doors.
Elevators were extremely loud and slow. We took stairs on several occasions.
We were staying for an event on the lower level and the escalators (both) to the lower level were not operational
Don’t be fooled by the drive-up entrance and lobby.
As Hilton Members, We expected more from a Hilton especially being in Oakbrook, IL. And for the nightly rate. This reminded me of a 60-70 hotel. I guess this is what hyperinflation looks like.

Upon first arriving in the lobby of the Doubletree in Oakbrook, one's eyes are drawn upwards to the potentially pretty bubble chandeliers. The lobby presents itself well and the staff are friendly.
Our room appeared clean and our bed was relatively comfortable and clean. However, this hotel is in desperate need for a renovation. There sounds like a consistent water leak in the ceiling or the wall, and the plaster on the ceiling has bubbles and holes, to which the ceiling crashing down on me in bed came to mind on more than one occasion. There is not a mini fridge nor a microwave.
The bathroom is just sad. The bathtub itself gets 5 stars because it's exceptionally clean with no stains, however, the caulking around the bathtub and floor has separated away from the tub, so it gives the impression that the bathtub has shifted into the wall. The reflection of the sink shows the mold at the top of the sink, under the counter lip. The counter height and toilet reveal how long it's been since either the hotel opened or since it's last reno, (40 years, easily). The wallpaper seams are separating and peeling and if I was nervous about the bubbles and holes in the ceiling in the main room, that has nothing on the ceiling in the bathroom. It's apparent there's been a considerable amount of damage sustained above over the years, since no amount of paint can disguise or otherwise hide the cracks and holes.
If you're hungry, save yourself the $17 for breakfast and go elsewhere. There were unheated, overcooked pancakes, cold scrambled eggs, and some potatoes. There wasn't any fresh fruit or other offerings.
I appreciate that there was a clean bed to sleep in, but I will not ever stay in this hotel again.

Totally a bad experience. As a longtime Hilton Honors Diamond member, I stay at many Hilton properties. At check-in, the employee never acknowledged Diamond status (first time ever) nor explained Diamond benefits. Only asked if we wanted any housekeeping for our 3 night stay. When I said we did, he seemed annoyed (housekeeping only came once- no one ever would answer the phone at front desk when we called - luckily we were able to grab some towels off a housekeeper's cart in the hallway.. A couple hours after checking in I went back to ask him what were our Diamond benefits, another employee perfectly and professionally did so while he tried to hide (he did acknowledge that he hadn't told me anything), The room was fine if you didn't consider the crumbling shower ceiling and filthy bathroom tile. Restaurant's entire staff was very friendly and competent. There are two other Hilton properties less than half a mile away that we've stayed in previously - they would both be much better choices. Without a doubt this was the worst Hilton I've ever visited.

The location of this property is great and the front desk staff is very friendly and helpful but there are definitely some things that aren't up to Hilton standards. The main one being the heating/cooling system. When we walked into our room it was very hot and the thermostat said it was 80 degrees. We lowered it and went out to dinner. When we came back, the room temperature was the same. The next day we asked for maintenance to come and look at it. They responded in 5 minutes - which was great. However, he said that there wasn't anything he could do because only the 'heat' function was active - it was too early in the season for the 'cool' function. He apologized but said that all of the rooms were like this and we could open the patio door to cool the room down. We did but this was much louder with the outside noise. We did not sleep well. It was frustrating that we weren't able to control the temperature of our room. There is also no refrigerator or microwave which seemed unusual. There were several other smaller things- the facial tissue was definitely not Kleenex brand (very stiff and rough) and there was a floor lamp and upholstered chair in the room that were way too big for the small room and just got in the way (there are 4 other lamps in the room). Maybe we were just here at the wrong time of the year and other times would be better.

Management could not care less about how unhappy customers are with the conditions of this hotel.
Common areas are well maintained to give the appearance of a nice hotel, but the rooms we stayed in were old, very poorly maintained and in disrepair. Paint was flaking and scraped off every door, door frame and the ceiling. The ceiling above the shower was literally flaking off and falling in the tub. The ceramic refinishing paint applied to the tub was chipping off around the drain. And the edges of the furniture was literally scraped raw.
To make matters worse, the hallway noise continued all night long and the mattress had an enormous "depression" that I kept rolling into while sleeping. God only knows hold old this damn mattress was.
I emailed Hilton Corporate in the hope someone would care. They didn't. After multiple interactions, their greatest expression of regret was to add some points to my HHONORS account - which amounted to about 10-15% of one night's stay.
Terrible experience and total waste of time interacting with the management.
